Well thank you to those who understand that there is construction going on and find other routes, it helps them get the work done much quicker.

Heavy rain is here. Please keep an eye out for severe weather changes.

Want to ask everyone to stay safe with the upcoming weather. If it looks nasty out then it is. Stay home if possible, but if you must go out please look out for the plow drivers, wrecker drivers, and the first responders who may have to be out keeping people safe.

If you are in town today and thirsty there is a small lemonade stand setup by 3 children and their mom who are also passing out banana peppers just north of South street on Main. Stop by and visit them, I'm sure they would love the company.

Just a heads up.

I know the rain doesn't help with getting out, but the shelter house in the park has nice new picnic tables and is covered. You can always enjoy the sound of the rain on the metal roof and relax. Good work by the Advance Parks Department at getting the tables back together.

As we enjoy the weekend and time with friends and family, please remember those who gave all they could so that you could enjoy your freedom. Thank you to those who are serving or have served.

This has got to be one of the worse times in an officers career. The loss of a young adult for no reason of her own and then the loss of a dedicated Deputy who was doing his job.
Prayers are going out to the families of all involved, as well as the school community and the law enforcement communities.

Please know that we are here to assist in any way we can.
Please do not hesitate to ask for help or even just to talk or if you just need to vent.

The 2nd day for the Advance after school program being held at the Advance Fire Department. (Thank you Advance Fire for the use of the building). The Marshal, Brad Thomas along with Linda, Sheri, and the Old Union Christian Church have set out to make a safe environment for kids to get tutoring if wanted and a place for them to meet on Mondays and Wednesdays after school. None of the 37 kids in attendance today can say they have gone home hungry. Great work to all who have helped.

Wanted to say thank you to everyone who participated and joined in the chili cook off last night at the Advance Fire Department. Our very own Town Marshal Brad Thomas was the recipient of an award. Great job to all, can't wait for next year.

Marshall Brad Thomas will be hosting a pizza party on Monday, February 5th for students immediately after school at the Fire Station.

If everyone could pass along to those in the area. The Advance Police Department was given a bag containing medical supplies on December 24th. The stethoscope inside the bag has the name "Stacie" written on it. There are several other items that can be identified by the owner. If you believe you are the owner of this bag and the contents, please contact the police department or the Town Hall and they can contact the police department. 765-676-6611.

As we had a little warm up, just remember that all that melted snow is now going to be ice. Temps are starting to drop and it will only get worse.
