The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) and the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) announced that a Maricopa County resident has been diagnosed with the 2019 Novel Coronavirus. The confirmed case is in a person who recently returned from travel to Wuhan, China where there is currently an outbreak of the virus.
“In any health emergency situation, the most important thing to remember is educating yourself with factual information from reputable sources is key in staying healthy,” Phoenix’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management Interim Director Brent Olson said.
Arizona health and public safety agencies across the state are working together and are disseminating information on the virus, how it spreads, and how to protect yourself and family from the virus.
