I just heard the weather man describe the forecast as “instant fall” and I’m not ready.
I’ll forever be thinking of summer and blue water, especially with these.
As a reminder, is this weekend. Friday-Sunday. Rain (😬) or shine. Please come and show your local artists some love - it’s a really great show!
Bringing back some favorites. The tallest mug with my favorite bold print for fall (did you hear animal print is back in style (( did it ever leave?!?))
I ordered my first hot coffee of the season this week but I am wishing for one more warm weather spell to for a final iced coffee. Maybe I’ll enjoy it with my last summer peach ☀️
These will be with me this weekend, and then online next week with what’s left in stock.
x
Lots of new on the tables this week at the studio. This summer, I was barely firing, instead letting the clay dry nice and slow and taking weekends off to be by the lake. But it’s nice to see piles start to form the part few weeks.
These will all be heading with me to this weekend and then followed by a shop update. A whole slew of new mugs and bowls and vases, along with a restock of past favorites.
Also, don’t be shy - if you are visiting and want something specific, just msg.
To all who has a first day at school today, 😬, I hope it went well.
Summer ending blues…
This combo of red clay and blue surface details is such a fun one for me.
Contradicting a more classical form with a modern pop of color or print has become one of my more favourite path to travel in my practice.
Like this piece…
Bottoms up in the studio this afternoon with a fresh bisque load sanded and waxed, and some new pieces waiting for their turn in the kiln.
V. Grateful I filled this studio with as many tables as possible.
I’m gearing up for the taking place in a few weeks (Sept 6-8) so fingers crossed all clay and glazes cooperate 🤞
Now time to decorate…
Back in stock now - two of my favorite drinking options. My Everyday Mug in white leopard and my Drinking Cup version in red stripes.
Go for it now…
☕️☕️🍵🍵🍷🍷
I don’t know what freaked me out more today, the cold morning air or the holiday order request I got.
I’m not ready for what comes next. I’m not ready for the heat to be over…
I’ve never been much of a sketcher, I find my hands are much better going straight to clay and explore forms and profiles. So that was what today was. What I call clay sketching ✍️🏺
I guess a form of prep for what comes next…
🚨 NEW WORKSHOP ALERT 🚨
In my standard throwing classes, I hear “but how do you make them all the same?!?” at least once or twice a session. Throwing multiples is hard, it takes practice to get comfortable enough with the process to be able to do it over and over the exact same way. But I’ve learned simple tricks along the way that work for me so I thought it would be time to share them with you.
I’ve just listed a 5 week Mastering Multiples workshop online. If you have some experience throwing but can’t seem to get the results you want, this might be the one for you.
Tickets online now, head online and grab your spot.
I’ve lost count of all the wheel throwing classes I have taught over the years. Through studio moves and Covid and more studio changes, thank you for the enduring interest in learning and expanding your practice.
I’ve just listed a fresh new batch of classes for the fall including a taster 4 week course plus a 5 week option with a focus on Mastering Multiples. And as always, a 6 and 8 week option as well.
All online now. My newsletter subscribes got first dibs, but still a few spaces in alll options as of now.
If you have any questions, just ask. And help spread the work by sharing this post - much appreciated. X
I’m heading out to the lake this weekend but the online shop is open 24/7. I’ll be back in next week to arrange pickups and ship out orders.
Thank you as always.
Have a good one..
I’m such a big fan of this colour as of late, on all my clays, which doesn’t happen always.
As green as the grass after all this rain 🌧️
It’s just really good as the backdrop for any flower colour or room design. All online now.
My latest favourite summer fruit companion. Sits so nicely on the counter or in the fridge, especially when space is limited.
Rectangular berry bowls online with just a few left in stock… 🍒🍒
The latest version of lattice work on my pieces. Just two versions of this pattern available but I’m sure I will play around with it more 🏺

It’s a bit like working backwards when I plan my work. I think about what I want my final pieces to look like and work out in reverse what steps have to happen.
This latest blue and white collection was so enjoyable me to work out. Large and bold and tactile in my most favorite way.
New work online tomorrow 🏺🏺
☀️Summer whites ☀️
I wanted this new collection to play with texture and pattern, but within the clay itself, not with glaze. There is something so tactile about them, both with their texture and the softness of the glaze.
It’s picture day today so expect a notice for a shop update next week.
Fan of the soft white?
Join me all weekend long at booth B 161.
Come grab a new bowl or mug or vase.
To all the people the braved the sun (and rain!) yesterday thanks so much. ☀️🫠
Some past reveals of my latest collection in collaboration with
This was such an enjoyable collection to put together and you can check them all out online through
As is normal with this craft, lots are made, some work, some break, some don’t make the cut for the final collection (and some you just want to keep ☺️.) But I did tuck away a few more animal print to bring this weekend to - this Friday- Sunday at Nathan Philips Square.
☕️☕️
Fresh new mugs online now. This update included one brand new colorway, one variation on a past, and two classic prints.
Cheers ☕️☕️☕️
A surprise little shop restock and upload of some new mugs, cups and bowls just happened for those of you looking for something new ✨✨
Go have a look =)
Limited quantity for this batch…
Excuse my recent quietness here but it happens sometimes =)
I’m here to share some really special work that was just released. In a collaboration with THE , a new collection of ooak vases, all online now. To have this opportunity to be a part of this special museum means so much to me at this point in my pottery career. It would mean so much to me if you would check them out.
Thank you and Adeline La for the opportunity.
And because a break comes with its own issues (re: plummeted viewership and engagement) I would love to hear from you here ⬇️
And finally, new summer classes coming this week Wednesday 🏺🏺
