The time team is back as we go back to the early 60's to discuss the rise of the machines with the Lost Story, The Masters of Luxor. Along the way Juliette takes the measure of a man. Nathan ponders how Doctor Who would have been different if this were the second serial instead of The Daleks. They both discuss machine overlords, fascist regimes, and possible Cyberman origins. Timestreams 15: The Sixties Rise of the Machines (The Masters of Luxor) In this episode Nathan and Juliette discuss the story that almost went out instead of The Daleks, The Masters of Luxor.
Our Time Team is back as Nathan and Juliette discuss their first "true" Lost Story with Farewell, Great Macedon. This story was conceived with the intention of being part of Doctor Who's first season. However, writer Moris Fahri was unhappy with the rewrites asked of him, so the serial was never recorded. He did retain the scripts, though, and Big Finish used those to adapt into an audio drama as part of their Lost Stories range. In this episode Nathan and Juliette talk about the story as well as the historical basis for it. Along the way Juliette talks about the charisma of John Dorney's performance as Alexander the Great as well as Ian's wrestling prowess. Nathan talks about the Doctor's theatricality and ponders how they would have pulled off some aspects of this production. They both discuss Alexander's size, misogynistic assumptions, Christianity in the series, and the elements that needed to be rewritten.

We're back from hiatus! This time Nathan and Juliette have something new for you to enjoy over your holiday weekend. In this episode we take a look at the first of our Lost Stories with Farewell, Great Macedon. This episode was written specifically to show off writer, Moris Fahri's, writing skills to the Doctor Who production office. It was received with enough interest that they commissioned him to begin working on a new serial entitled Farewell, Great Macedon. This time we discuss the "enhanced audiobook" format of the range, aging voices, the stories' themes, character impressions in early season one, and downbeat endings. Give it a listen and let us know what you think!
