Perelel
Our pre & postnatal vitamins provide optimal nutrients for exactly where you are in your motherhood
In honor of Month, we wanted to highlight the crucial work of , an organization we are proud to work with as one of our impact partners. In case you didn’t know, we developed our Egg Freeze Support Pack as part of our mission to support every path to parenthood.
And when you support your own journey, you’re also supporting someone else’s: A portion of proceeds from each purchase of Egg Freeze Support Pack is donated to Chick Mission, a nonprofit that sponsors fertility preservation for women who have been diagnosed with cancer.
Here’s a look at Chick Mission’s work:
🤍 Chick Mission was founded by women who have dealt with the same things their grantees go through
🤍 They provide real-time funding for newly diagnosed cancer patients’ fertility preservation
🤍 They’re on a mission to create long-term change with mandated insurance coverage of fertility preservation in the U.S.
Are you on your own egg-freezing journey? If so, we’d love to hear from you in our DMs—and potentially share your story with our community.
In a Perelel Universe, fertility support is accessible.
Though as many as 1 in 6 couples will experience fertility challenges, it remains an area of healthcare that still goes underfunded and overlooked. Research and knowledge gaps can leave some parents-to-be without a firm understanding of their options. That’s not even to mention that insurance coverage in the US for essential fertility treatment like IVF is spotty at best—and this fertility access gap means that many are forced to choose between pursuing their dream of expanding their family and avoiding severe monetary strain.
It’s pretty simple: We think every parent-to-be deserves access to fertility care—and that starts with a foundation of more comprehensive research. That’s why we and a coalition of 14,000+ (and counting) are calling on Congress to allocate more NIH funding to women’s health research. Together, let’s make it clear that funding women’s health research shouldn’t be up for debate—by calling on our local reps to advocate for more equitable research funding, including fertility care services.
We’ve started outreach to Congressional leaders across the country—but we need your voice. And we’ve made it super easy! Comment the full name of your state below and we’ll send you some next steps to get LOUD 📢 (Check your DMs!)
What our Sunday plans look like.
Replenishing from the inside out with Cellular Hydration Powder and diving into a good book. What’s on your fall reading list? You know the new Sally Rooney is on ours... 👀📖
Morning sickness in the first trimester. Muscle cramps in the second. Gearing up for birth in the third. Our bodies transform *so much* during and after pregnancy—yet most prenatals are one-size-fits-all.
It’s why we teamed up with a panel of leading OB/GYNs, fertility doctors, naturopaths, doulas, and dietitians to develop a solution that actually changes with us and our symptoms—providing the differentiated support we need, at the right time. ✨
Our formulations are always doctor-backed and triple-tested for safety, purity and quality, because our commitment to your health is unparalleled.

Here’s something we can *all* agree on. More than 14,000 people have joined our coalition calling for more NIH funding for women’s health research. But the work doesn’t stop here.
As Congress has extended its federal budget discussions through December, let’s make it clear that funding women’s health research shouldn’t be up for debate—by calling on our local reps to advocate for more equitable research funding.

Let’s create a future where research reflects our bodies—together.
This just in: A new study published in Nature Neuroscience has revealed that a woman’s brain *does*, in fact, change during pregnancy 🧠 Neuroscientist Liz Chrastil performed a study on herself before, during, and after pregnancy (in a total of 26 brain scans) to further understand the effects of pregnancy on brain tissue. It also marks yet another crucial step forward for maternal research.
We asked Perelel’s medical co-Founder, Dr. Banafsheh Bayati, MD, OB/GYN, for her thoughts on this exciting research development: “This data provides a map of the maternal brain from preconception through each trimester and into postpartum, allowing researchers the ability to further understand and explore the maternal brain. Shedding light on conditions that lack understanding such as the neurobiology of pregnancy, postpartum depression, preeclampsia and eclampsia.”

¹Based on a 12-week subjective single arm study of 30 women, ages 18+ with symptoms of hormonal imbalance
According to a 2018 study, most women have the potential to experience uterine fibroids by age 50.* Overall prevalence of fibroids among women is 70 percent, with Black women disproportionally burdened by this issue, showing the highest prevalence at 80 percent.¹
After a long journey advocating for her symptoms, Camille Austin () was diagnosed in 2022 with uterine fibroids—growths within the uterus that can enlarge the stomach area, cause heavy menstrual bleeding or painful periods, cycle irregularity, pelvic pain... the list goes on.
On the set of Perelel Universe, the model reflected on the fight for her diagnosis, culminating in surgery at the start of 2023.
Despite the high prevalence of uterine fibroids, conditions that affect a much lower percentage of people are shown to have more research funding behind them.² Needless to say, we’re long overdue for change—which is why we’re calling on Congress to close the gender health gap and allocate more NIH funding to the study of women’s health.
Have you dealt with uterine fibroids or a similar condition? What has your experience looked like?

September is Awareness Month—and it’s something that many members of the Perelel community navigate every day. In addition to cysts on the ovaries, this chronic hormonal condition is typically linked to insulin resistance and in turn, irregular menstrual cycles: Insulin helps regulate ovarian function, and our ovaries respond to excess insulin by producing androgens (male hormones)—which can lead to missed ovulation.
The exact cause of PCOS is unknown, which again, underlines the need for increased research funding for gynecological conditions. We spoke with Dr. Bayati, MD, OB/GYN, FACOG and Perelel’s Medical co-Founder about recognizing the signs of PCOS—and what seeking treatment can look like for you.
Is PCOS something you deal with? How have you navigated your symptoms?

What if our prenatal vitamins weren’t one-size-fits-all? 🤍 We designed and formulated our Trimester Packs to give you exactly what you need during each stage of your pregnancy. Why? Our panel of leading OB/GYNs and women’s health experts believe that our nutritional support should dynamically change with our bodies vs. an oversimplified prenatal vitamin.
In addition to our Core Prenatal and Omega DHA + EPA for brain development and mood support, each trimester features different vitamins and supplements that reflect the latest medical research and our founding doctors’ clinical insights, targeted to your specific stage—and most common symptoms. After all, our bodies change so much throughout pregnancy—your prenatal vitamins should, too.
✨ 1st Trimester Pack: Added Folate for early neural development support, and an added Anti-Nausea Blend for morning sickness.*
✨ 2nd Trimester Pack: Additional Calcium to support fetal skeletal development, as well as more Magnesium to support cramps & relaxation.*

We’ve been honored to be by ’s side through several stages of her hormonal journey: from managing her PCOS, to fertility, and now postpartum and motherhood. When we asked Pia what her Perelel Universe looks like, her answer was simple: that every woman has access to the basic support (and answers) she needs through every phase of her life.
Pia is joining us as we call on Congress to increase federal funding for women’s health research, close the gender health gap—and create a world with more healthy, supported women.
Comment UNIVERSE to sign our petition (we’re closing in on 10,000 signatures). Together, let’s step into a future we’re creating now.
Women’s health is not one-size-fits-all. We created Perelel because most supplements on the market oversimplified our needs and our bodies—leaving us without the dynamic, stage-specific support we deserve.
Four years later, we’re proud to offer doctor-backed solutions designed to meet you exactly where you are, no matter what your journey looks like—with more to come 👀 And we’re doubling down on our promise to create a world with more healthy, supported women by fighting to close the gender research gap and improving access to critical prenatal care.
We couldn’t do any of it without YOU, our incredible community ✨ Tell us: What product would you like to see from us next?
In a Perelel Universe, our questions have answers: in the form of inclusive medical research and wraparound, accessible care for women in the United States.
Right now, less than 11% of NIH funding goes towards the study of women’s bodies. Join us as we call on Congress to increase federal funding for women’s health research, close the gender health gap—and create a world with more healthy, supported women.

A note from Perelel co-Founders Dr. Bayati, Alex Taylor and Victoria Thain Gioia:
From day one, our mission has been clear: to create a world with more healthy, supported women. Despite every obstacle, we launched Perelel in September 2020, investing every cent into developing best-in-class products while funding ourselves with the help of family and friends.
Today, exactly four years since launching, we’re celebrating an unimaginable milestone —a full-page ad in the —because of what we’ve achieved together, with *you.*
Together, we’ve shown that women want and deserve targeted, doctor-backed support. Together, we’ve demonstrated that understanding our bodies might just be the most powerful form of empowerment. Together, we’ve proven that women’s health matters. And together, we’ve created a movement.
Thank you for standing with us and turning our vision into reality. Your support has been the driving force behind our progress, and together, we will continue to redefine women’s health. The future is bright, and we’re just getting started.

While the thought of a hands-off approach to contraception has obvious appeal, many women report that the process of getting an IUD inserted (or removed) can be decidedly less easygoing—so much so, that the CDC just released updated physician guidelines for IUD insertion procedures. These guidelines advise physicians to counsel their patients on the potential for pain, and to offer options for pain management, including local anesthesia.
While many knowledgeable OB/GYNs already offered such patience guidance for these procedures, it’s a crucial step in ensuring that IUD insertion pain is acknowledged and managed at scale. Research highlights a historical disparity between perceived and reported IUD pain: In one study, women ranked their IUD insertion pain as a 65 out of 100, while physicians rated their patients’ pain at a 35.
Above, we share five real-life stories of what getting an IUD is really like. Head to the link in bio to learn more—and if you feel comfortable sharing, tell your IUD story in the comments below.

EXCLUSIVE: How do you build internet virality “from scratch?” For , it’s turning nourishment into an art form—over the past several months, millions have tuned in breathlessly to watch Nara cook increasingly elaborate recipes, set to a soothing soundtrack of smooth jazz and an ASMR-worthy voiceover. But we caught up with Nara on the heels of a particularly special creation: In April, she gave birth to her third child, a daughter named Whimsy Lou.
Nara tells us that as wild as internet fame is, she’s trying to take it in stride—however, navigating postpartum sent her on a bit of an “emotional roller coaster.” “A lot of the time we prepare for pregnancy and labor, but the time that comes after is just as important to prepare for,” she says.

Our Story
We are Perelel.
Here is our story.
It all started in 2018 when two Los Angeles moms, Alex Taylor and Victoria Thain Gioia, found themselves pregnant and frustrated with their prenatal vitamins.
MEET VICTORIA AND HER OB/GYN, DR. BANAFSHEH BAYATI.
In early 2019, Victoria’s daughter was born with a cleft lip without having any common risk factors or genetic link. As someone who had gone to great lengths to take all of the right vitamins, read all of the right research, and was lucky enough to have an incredible OB/GYN, Dr. Banafsheh Bayati, Victoria was shocked to learn how much was left unsaid and underserved for women during pregnancy.
