So many of us think we’re expected to have all the answers, so we’re scared to ask for help.

To know Doc Sweitzer is to love Doc Sweitzer. We barely scratched the surface of his long and storied career, but think we captured the soul of the man.

Here he tells our hosts why his work (and by extension the work of everyone in the industry in one way or another) is important. He takes his work, but not himself seriously.

In short, he’s a mensch, even though he’s not Jewish, he’s not a Doctor, but he does have a Posse!

Everyone should have a motto. If you don't, you could do worse than a simple phrase of encouragement from Winston Churchill. "K.B.O."

We tried out something new this week. Questions from the old Vanity Fair “Proust Questionnaire” - one of which is “What Is Your Most Prized Possession?” Our guest tells us about a letter he received from President George HW Bush, and what it means to him.

These are the types of stories we are endeavoring to tell.

We continue with Zac McCrary week here on the show, as he and David discuss winning some races together that on paper were highly unlikely, and liken professional development to Dennis Green drafting Randy Moss.

The show is tangentially about politics, but it's really about people. What makes them tic. How they got where they are - and the people who helped or hindered them along the way.

Rick Perlstein, renowned author and historian joined David and Chris this week, and you’re not going to want to miss this episode.

Here Rick alks about his favorite New York Times headline, and how it relates to the successful Civil Rights bills of 64 and 65 and the failure to pass the 1966 bill.

To give you an idea of the political history Joe Slade White was a first-hand witness to, if he were to interview someone whose first race was 48 years before the 1972 Campaign, that person would have worked for Calvin Coolidge or John W. Davis (who?).

Coolidge was born in 1972, and Davis' running mate was William Jennings Bryan's brother!

Check out the whole show to learn about how Joe Slade was put on Nixon's Enemies List, dealt with Hunter S. Thompson, and might be the only person who worked with both John Glenn and Howard Metzenbaum -- two US Senators from Ohio, and from the same party who hated each other.

He's also part of the reason we started the show! It was a blast to have him on the pod with David and Chris!

Exciting stuff as we continue to build our audience and expand the scope of our prospective guests.

One of the many things the audience learns about David if they listen closely is that his upbringing lends itself to being "Not from around here." And also "From wherever he says he's from that day." Shane Greer's explanation of being both Irish and British even made Dave's head spin.
