The proof is in the details. That thing, that sinful habit that we run to whenever we are fed up with someone or with a situation… whatever coping mechanism it is we have as our default when things are not going our way is the thing that will sit on the throne of our hearts. It is the thing that keeps us enslaved. It is the thing we are allowing to drive our lives. Be it foul language, alcohol, drugs, s*x, po*******hy, violence, or anything else, we choose who our master is when we run to our coping mechanism.
The Bible says we cannot serve two masters…because we will either love one and hate the other, or hate the one and love the other. It is much more profitable to run to Jesus when we are not “feeling it” with situations in our lives. It is much more profitable to be a slave to Christ gonna slaves or something that leads to death. When we are slaves we relinquish control to the master. Jesus is the only option that leads to life and for our good. Let’s choose LIFE.
Not everyone deserves to hear your dreams and plans.
Pray for discernment!!
Some people will support YOU and others will take your dreams, slap their name on it, and will try to claim you as an accessory to “their” idea. The latter is manipulation and is not something God wants for you. Don’t let someone else pimp out your gift or the ministry God have you!!
When someone supports YOU, they are not helping you in hopes of receiving something in return. They ask you how you envision things, and how they can genuinely help you get there. They help to enhance ideas, not break them down, not humble you for not having all the pieces, and not tell you that you need to stop. A helper will push you to keep going! To let the Holy Ghost keep giving you the vision so you can write it down, make it plain, and make it happen!!

Monday, I was asked to lead a Bible study on Ecclesiastes 7 & 8. I’ve read Ecclesiastes through a couple of times before, so I was familiar with the concept of the book, but to refresh my memory, I watched this video by The Bible Project:

Additionally, I read chapters 1-6 in preparation so that I would have the proper context as we went into a talk through the different sections of 7 and 8. Then it hit me...
The Lord was preparing my heart for what was about to happen. Loss.
Time. Death. That’s what this book is about. But at the same token, it’s also about life, appreciation, integrity, seeing beyond possessions and success and tuning in to what, or rather Who, really matters.
As I prepare my heart for a funeral next week, I grow appreciative of the thoughtfulness that funerals provoke. it’s not a celebration of death, so please do not misunderstand, but there’s something about the way you think about your relationships and the people you care about that changes when you are face-to-face with having to cope with the loss of a person you care about.
I thank God for the time He has given me with all of you, and I pray He helps me to take as much pleasure as I can in the rest of the time He gives me with His people, with loved ones, with the lost.
Time. We are all subject to it. We are all given varying amounts of it.
Death. It is a given that we all are appointed t succomb to it, as we are not immortal.
There IS something better about the days at the end of your life that you don’t have at the beginning: a reputation, experiences, relationships, lessons...
Let’s learn more and more to be humble, and to let the Lord teach us as much as possible so that we can be effective Kingdom agents for His glory

Lord,
I surrender my life and my purposes to You.
I want to do something, to make something happen, but I know without You I can do nothing.
I know my life is not my own, it’s Yours to work through me.
Lord, I am grateful for this life You’ve given me. You’ve blessed me with different gifts and talents.
Help me understand how to cultivate those purposes to bring glory to Your name.

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’” – Jeremiah 29:11
No matter the circumstances or the situation, God has always been the One who gives and calls out purpose in our lives. In fact, since God is the Creator of all things, He is the only One who can actually give true purpose.
Situations can offer a glimpse of purpose or significance; but situations and circumstances can also just as easily diminish or take away from our purpose. That’s exactly what was occurring in Jeremiah 29. The Israelites
were faced with a crisis of identity and purpose, yet God spoke and reassured them that His plans and His purposes would not be thwarted.
The same is true for you. Your purpose has been assigned to you by God and God alone. No person, circumstance, predicament, weapon, or outcome can take that away. Only God has the authority to give purpose, and He has used that authority to establish your purpose for eternity!
