Our Story
Crossing cultures, decades, and universes for vintage, eclectic, avant-garde, and modern clothing. Designed by me and then handmade/sewn by veterans and refugee women under my instruction at Wayne County Community College.
Upon graduation, hand-selected and certified refugee women are employed to work for me. They graduate to the sewing center at Durfee Innovation Center, the newly refurbished Durfee elementary and middle school that is located in Detroit.
At the Durfee Sewing Center, Refuge for Nations also employs this new workforce and offers more growth in this and other areas. These women face various barriers to employment and are need of opportunities to grow and succeed, and help support their families.
