Changes implemented by The President this evening have had an impact on domestic travel within South Africa and our operations. As such FlySafair would like to announce the following:

Flight operations will continue but some schedule adjustments will be required. Customers with existing bookings are to please look out for communications around possible flight changes.

We will communicate via SMS and email using the mobile numbers and email addresses provided at the time of booking.

Customers with the closest departures will be contacted first and we will then work forward through bookings to inform customers of any changes.

We expect very high contact volumes following these announcements and so we ask customers to be patient with us as we deal with all bookings.

Given that leisure travel is no longer permitted we have made the following adjustments to our terms and conditions to accommodate customers:

Penalty-free changes are permitted on all ticket types. This means that you can change your flight to a confirmed future date without paying any penalty fees. Please note that you will however be subject to pay a fare difference if the new flights you want, cost more than those you purchased before.

Full Refund to Wallet. All our flights are refundable to wallet, but some of the fare types carry a penalty fee. This fee is being temporarily suspended, which means customers can get full credits for their flights which are valid for the next 12 months.

Update on KLM operations between South Africa and Amsterdam.

KLM has adapted its flight schedule beyond 18 January 2021 and will operate 4 flights per week from Johannesburg to Amsterdam and 3 flights per week from Cape Town to Amsterdam, with a technical stop in Dar es Salaam. Passengers will remain on board during this stop. All flights are confirmed to operate.

KLM is committed to working within the rules and regulations imposed during the pandemic, and the health and safety of our passengers remains our number one priority.

Please also note that the Air France schedules have not been affected by these new regulations, and will continue to operate 3 times per week between Johannesburg and Paris.

As a reminder, passengers flying from South Africa travelling to the Netherlands or transiting in the Netherlands are now required to produce a negative rapid antigen test which must be taken 4 hours prior to departure. This antigen test can be taken at Cape Town International or O.R Tambo International airports where facilities are being arranged. This antigen test is in addition to the mandatory negative PCR test valid 72 hours prior to arrival in the Netherlands and the completed and signed Negative Test Declaration https://bit.ly/2Kpq09f.

Here’s what you need to know:

🎉 You can collect and redeem your free birthday Cableway ticket on any day of the calendar month in which your birthday falls
🎉 For example, visitors born in January are able to collect and redeem their free birthday tickets on any day in January (even if it’s before their actual birthday)
🎉 Regardless of when your actual birth date falls during your birthday month, you cannot redeem your free birthday ticket the following month. For example, someone born on 31 January cannot use their birthday ticket in February
🎉 Tickets are only available to South African citizens. You will have to present a valid South African identity document, driving licence or birth certificate on arrival at the Cableway
