We are just about *halfway* through the school year and I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel😅 but for real, it’s been a tough year for a lot of teachers so what’s been keeping helping you stay positive?!

Personally, I’ve just dropped my idea/expectation of what my class would be this year and am meeting the kids where they are. It’s truly helped me be much more chill this last month 🧘🏼‍♀️

I love using picture books in ALL grades. Either as mentor texts, life lessons or to inspire projects. Drop your favourite picture books to read in upper elementary down in the comments so we can all get some inspiration ✨📖👇🏼

Memory books are my favourite way to end the year 🥳 these come in a printable and digital version to suit your class best. I alsoooo made the printable version with some different “more fun” fonts suitable for your Grade 6-8 students. Link in bio 🌞

LITERATURE CIRCLES

I just started these with my eight graders and they are loving them! Literature circles are perfect for increasing engagement, supporting independent reading & teaching comprehension and analysis. I created these roles specifically with older students in mind, including more complex prompts to help them dig deeper!

Check out the link in my bio if you want to take a closer look 💫💕

Teacher Side Hustles: do you have one??
Having a TpT store (which has become a second job) has been a complete game changer for me. Of course, juggling that and an actual full-time teaching job is *a lot* but the joy, independence and financial freedom it gives me makes it SO worth it.

So tell me, do you also work another job? If yes, comment below what you do 💫💖

DISTANCE LEARNING
So much to learn (as teachers and students) in such a short time. These Lesson at a Glance pages have helped students stay on track and know exactly what assignments/tasks need to be completed for the day and/or week. Organization is SO important right now, and the more clear the expectations and routine, the more likely you will have students participating.
