✨Natalie Garay is the Founder of {ther • happy} a company that creates handmade therapeutic products called 'theramists.' {ther • happy}'s first product, 'Calm the F*ck Down,' is made with organic lavender and tangerine essential oils and calming Flower Essences.

The mists started out as an added tool for healing Natalie's postpartum clients to accompany their physical healing. As a Flower Essence therapist, she created homeopathic tinctures and calming mists to support their emotional and energetic healing needs. When her Pilates studio closed in March of 2020, where she helped mamas heal from symptoms related to pelvic floor weakness, abdominal wall separation, and c-section surgery, she decided to forge and expand her therapeutic mist products.

👉Here with a quick KOB update after going silent for a week.

Took some time to think about the direction I want Kind of Box to go in and what my goals are since KOB will be turning ONE next month! 😲

After some thought, I made the decision to continue partnering with current and past shops. I’m doing this because after such a crazy Spring, I wasn’t able to give our Spring shops the recognition and features that they deserve.

I’m excited to implement new ideas and goals for the fall and am so thankful for all you day ones/ new KOB lovers that have watched my small scary dream turn into a reality!

✨Cornelia Home was born out of my need for self care. As a wife of 20+ years, mother of 3, daughter to aging parents, active volunteer, and with a full time career in corporate America, I realized that I was unconsciously neglecting myself. I knew something needed to change. It was time to consciously focus on me.

✨My passion for creating non-toxic, natural home and body products for my family and I was shortly discovered. As a 2x breast cancer survivor (thank You Jesus!), I was no longer able to enjoy store bought scented candles, room sprays and diffusers because the toxic ingredients they contained would literally make me sick - even after 5 years of being cancer-free. My mission was to research natural, simple ingredients that I could use to create my own beautiful home fragrances.

✨Once I found the non-toxic ingredients I wanted to try, I haven’t looked back since. I love how these products bring my home so much comfort and sophistication. My family adores them as well, especially my husband. When he walks in the door from work, the first thing he says is “wow babe, it’s smells good in here”. It’s a blessing and a great feeling to know that I’m exposing my family to natural, simple and sophisticated products.

✨I started Urban Wanderlust 2017 after a recent trip to Costa Rica had me wanting to bring back more than just the usual souvenirs for friends & family. The idea to create travel scented candles came to me one night while sitting on my couch, thinking about how I wanted more from my career. At first Urban Wanderlust was going to be a pet line of teepees, but that quickly went out the door when I stumbled upon candle making one night while playing with a store bought candle that was burning a little weird. After a year of experimenting with different waxes, fragrance oils, jars and trying to design everything on my own from my logo to website (because yep, thats what Virgo's do) - Urban Wanderlust was finally launched in Dec of 2017. The best part were my friends/family asking me when did I learn to make candles? And who took my product photos? I loved being able to say - ME. It was all me!

Here’s what Rachel had to say! ✨

I started the idea for this business not long after graduating college. I knew I loved painting florals, and I loved the world of stationery, so I decided to combine both interests into something that would make my mark on the world, no matter how small. I knew I wanted to make a way to spread love and kindness in a way that allowed people to deepen their relationships with others, and I thought sending cards was a great way to do that! Sending a card or letter is intentional, it's from the heart, and you're really allowing yourself to truly express what you feel. I've spent the last several months corresponding with a pen pal and I can say that receiving a note in the mail really does make you feel special, and loved. I just want others to reignite that spark that snail mail gives us! I think if we live in a world where people reach out to others out of sincerity and love, it would be a much better world!

The journey has been a modest one, and only a couple of years old, but I am enjoying every minute of it and am so grateful for every opportunity I've had this past year for (safely!) doing craft fairs. This season with Kind of Box is a big accomplishment for me and I can't wait to spread the love to even more beautiful people!

The name Finch & Flower Paperie is an homage to the simple outdoor environments that I spent so much time in growing up that shaped who I am as an artist today. This rural little corner of northeast IL that I call home has provided me with inspiration for years, even when I didn't realize it.

Our products are handmade in small batches without the use of artificial colors, fragrances or preservatives. Scents are made using essential oils and herbal infusions, or simply just the natural goodness of the raw ingredients themselves. At the Lavender & Honey Shop, our lip balms and lotion sticks skip the landfill, avoiding unnecessary use of plastic. They are packaged in kraft paperboard which is renewable, biodegradable, and recyclable.

👉Hello everyone! My name is Hannah and I recently graduated from nursing school and had the opportunity to start Nuunchi! “Nuunchi” is a Korean word that is loosely translated to “having sense,” in the context of being able notice small changes in a situation. To us, the name represents the ability to sense the latest fashion trends and styles!

Nuunchi was created in August 2020, when my mother-in-law and I decided to open an Etsy. For the past 25 years, she has been in the beauty supply business after immigrating from South Korea. We started selling masks because we saw a need for high quality masks that could be accessible for a fair price. With our connections to South Korea, we are able to make beautiful masks with high quality materials that provide safety while being fashionable. We’re still in the early stages of running a small business and are learning new things each day!
