Larks and Crows Welcome at North Antrim Coast Community Choir on Thursday Evenings Larks and Crows Welcome at North Antrim Coast Community Choir on Thursday Evenings Thursday, 14 September 2023, 7.30pmCarnlough Heritage Hub Glenlough Community Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings 7.30-9.30 in the Heritage Hub, above the library in the village of Carnlough on the North Antrim coast...

28/08/2023

2022/23 was a wonderful year, for Glenlough Community Choir and 2023/24 is already shaping up to be a good one - so exciting times for our Larks and Crows! So we cannot WAIT to get back to rehearsals on Thursday 14th of September, from 7.30-9.30pm in the Heritage Hub in Carnlough.

Our first rehearsals are FREE for people who are brave enough to give it a try!

Sometimes we meet people out and about, and they tell us that they love to sing, but they've never been in a choir, or they've only ever sung in the shower, or they're too old for that sort of thing, or someone told them when they were little that they couldn't sing.. And then they laugh and say, "You wouldn't want ME in your choir...!" Well! We're here to tell you that we DO. We genuinely mean it when we say that the Larks and Crows are equally welcome. They really are! You will not spoil it for everyone else. That is guaranteed. You are WELCOME. We will be DELIGHTED to see you! Don't worry about the singing - Anne McCambridge will sort you out, there are practice tracks on YouTube and lots of folks around who do know the right notes and will keep you on the straight and narrow! And apart from the singing, we guarantee that you'll have great craic, that you'll see lovely folks you haven't seen in years, and you'll make new friends and connections too. We also have the best tea break in any choir we know - with top-class biscuits all included! Thursday night in Carnlough is the best night of the week - why not come along and give it a go..? And bring a friend! We look forward to seeing you!

20/06/2023

Join us for an informal evening of singing, music making and maybe a few poems, at the Twilight Coffee and Bunkhouse with Glenlough Community Choir! Come along and help us celebrate our last social event of the summer. Sing-along, share a song, or just listen with a good cup of tea! We'll be starting rehearsals again on Thursday 14th September at the Heritage Hub 7.30-9.30pm. Larks and Crows are eternally welcome!

Aren’t we all looking Great..?! What a wonderful day with Gathered Voices and Caritas..! Thanks again to Allegri, Maurice Kelly, Margaret and Rachel for inviting us to sing and for organizing such a beautiful festival- the impact you’ve had on your singers and audiences cannot be underestimated, and neither can the insane amount of work it takes to put it all together. It is deeply appreciated by all of us who took part. Thank you also to Tony Monaghan Photography for the beautiful pictures - we had the best day..! ❤️

WHAT A DAY…!! ❤️ We have had the most Amazing time with Allegri and the all the folks at the ..! So many firsts for Glenlough Community Choir so proud of everyone who took part..! Such a joyful experience..!! 🎶☀️❤️☀️🎶

EDIT: This photograph shows us on the Peace Bridge in Derry City - it’s a beautiful, practical, symbolic structure which makes a real connection between between people who otherwise might find it difficult to be together. Music was that bridge for all of us last night, and our architect was Maurice Kelly.

So thank you, to Maurice, Margaret and Rachel and your wonderful singers and helpers, and to our fellow choirs and choir leaders Caritas and Gathered Voices and the Song house singers.

It takes vision, courage and serious work to put something like this together - as well as incredible generosity of spirit - we were so fortunate to be a part of it. ❤️
