Todays ™️ masterclass we really went in depth on how porosity will really determine your formula choices.
Learning placement and techniques is great but in my classes that isn’t enough. As a colourist you need to full understand how porosity will totally affect your colour choices and your end results.
Our models hair lifted to different levels of orange and yellow/orange due to home colour build up.
We needed blue in our formula but with the porosity issues we had we didn’t want the tone to go dull so this is why we add gold into our formula.

I was very lucky that my lady was a natural level 8 and thine hair.
This made this colour possible 😍
My ladies hair lifted to a perfect clean level 10 so toning was simple.

𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
My beautiful lady normally have very soft golden balayage...
Her inspiration picture was a very ash dark blonde.

If I lifted to a level 7/8 the underlying tone would be orange/yellow.
With an ash tone this would of created a khaki ash tone.

I lifted to a level 9/10 to take me past the natural warmth to then colour back down to a level 8.

I toned with
09p 09t 07t 07p 07n
These cool tones created pure neutralisation and over tone to create this perfect cool tone.

𝗟𝗞 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 ™️ 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀
Had so much fun on Sundays master class transforming our beautiful model.

Yes had a band of orange level 6 from previous root colour
Uneven highlights with no blend.

Her wishes were to be more clean blonde with added dimensions at root.

First lifted with 20vol using my ™️ technique.
Then added a root colour in between to neutralise the warm tone using 6nn 6Sb and p

After developed we did a little wet balayage on the hair line at the basin using blondme 40vol for around 5 minutes.

We then toned with
Roots 6n 7t just 6na round hair line
Mid 9p and clear
Ends lifted beautiful so used 10gi to keep bright and fresh.

The end results were absolutely beautiful, 2020 classes are sold out but who would like to go on my wait list for cancellations or for 2021 classes.

𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴

Because of the warmth in my ladies hair from lockdown box die I could only lift my lady to a level 8 which undertone was orange yellow but because of the previous colour more orange than yellow.

I toned with 8vb which one the picture scares a lot of people when I show them in my classes.
Trust the science as it never fails me.
By getting full neutralisation my ladies colour appeared more of a level 9 and no orange 🖤

𝗠𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿

Be honest in your consultation, under promise and over achieve ⁣
⁣ Thine sections is the keep for maximum lift⁣
⁣ Don’t be shy with the amount of lightener you apply⁣
⁣ Mix your lightener small amounts and often for maximum power⁣
⁣ Always use a premium lighteners my go to is Schwarzkopf blondme for maximum lift⁣ and redken flashlift
⁣ Once your lightener is full of air it will lose strength ⁣
⁣ With pre lightened ends change your developer strength so not to compromise ends ⁣
⁣ If your lightener is blue remember to remove when checking as the blue can trick your eye that it’s cooler than it is.⁣

What’s your top tips for maximum lift?
Lifted with 20vol at mid length and roots 10vol on pre lightened ends
Toned with
Roots 7na
Ends 9p touch of 9g for brightness and clear

𝗕𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱
I loved creating this look.
First I did teased low lights using 7rb as I was working on pre lightened hair I just wanted to add tone.
On the roots and hair left out I used 5nn 6a colorance.
Just a simple technique but stunning end results.

𝗜𝗰𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Definitely swipe ⬅️ to see before, my lady had not have ColourMelange for over 6 months but the blend was still insane.

To achieve this look pre toning was so important.⁣
Lifted to a pale yellow level 9 at mids going into level 10 on ends.⁣
Lifted with Schwarzkopf blondeme 20vol using my ⁣signature blend technique ™️
⁣
Pre toned with Schwarzkopf chromatic 9,5-1⁣
Left for 20 minutes.⁣
⁣
Then toned ⁣
Roots redken shadeseq 7t 6na for a cool shadow root.⁣
Zig zag section at the bottom to create blend and dimension.⁣
Used elumen play lavender ⁣
Then silver throughout the rest.⁣
⁣
The most important part was pre toning as most silvers are a blue background, blue and yellow make green. No one likes a muddy silver😂

All of these looks were created with my signature blend technique ™️ it’s the most beautiful and easy technique ever that is very adaptable and is soon becoming hairdressers favourite technique.

𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗴𝗲
This balayage was created with free hand balayage using this is my absolute favourite clay lighter as the consistency is perfect and I always get great lift.
MY TOP TIP TO FREE HAND BALAYAGE IS THE NEGATIVE SPACE (dark area) IS AS IMPORTANT AS THE LIGHTS, TO CREATE PERFECT DIMENSIONS.

What I love about this technique is it’s so simple but so affective.⁣
No need to root melt as the blend is already perfect for you.⁣
I love a good root melt but this will give a seamless grow out.⁣
Lifted with 20vol
Globe toned with 9nb and a few grams 9g to help reflect light for maximum shine.

𝗜 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗴𝗲
This technique is so simple but just beautiful and affective, look at that blend on straight hair and no root melt needed.
Lifted with goldwell Silklift 20vol
Toned with redken shadeseq 9nb 9v few grams of 9g.
