Doug Turkel - Voiceover UNnouncer
You know how every time you go to a cocktail party, there's always that one beefy guy with the HUGE voice who says everyone tells him he should do voiceovers?
I'm not that guy. I'm the guy people go to when they specifically don't want that guy.
GIANT Pizzas, plus GIANT (and delicious) fun working on this one!
So yeah, I get it. Really I do. It can be awkward for someone to jump up down and scream "HEY, LOOK AT ME AND THIS AWESOME THING I DID!"
So please know that I'm sitting down and sharing this with you very calmly. 🙂
Also...this wasn't really something "I" did, it was a true team effort. I mean, yeah, I said some words out loud, but the incomparable J. Michael Collins and the supremely talented AJ McKay are the secret sauce that helped it come alive. (Click below to hear their great work.)
Being nominated as a finalist in the Outstanding Commercial Demo – Best Voiceover category at the VO world's largest awards competition, The Voice Arts® Awards, is a welcome bright spot in a year that's seen far too few of them.
And while it'd be great to win, I'm especially proud to say that I'm friends with almost everyone else who's been nominated in the category, and have great respect for the work they all do in the booth.
Audio description is narration that's added to the soundtrack of movies and television shows to describe important visual details that can't be understood from the dialogue alone. It helps to inform individuals who are blind or who have low vision about visual content that's essential for comprehension and enjoyment.
Another fun spot with EECU. The on-camera talent are fabulous!
