This weekend expect high temps mainly in the triple digits. Heat Advisories remain in effect. According to the National Hurricane Center there is a 30 percent chance for potential tropical cyclone development in the next 7 days. Stay safe and weather aware!

The City of Missouri City requests that all residents within the following areas restrict lawn watering to one time per week, to take effect Monday, August 14 until further notice. Water used to irrigate the golf course comes from non-potable sources wholly separate from the surface and ground water sources which form the City’s potable water infrastructure. Help conserve and maintain water availability for all service area residents!

Call it weird but, I showed up an hour before his shift ended. I’m sitting outside, stalking him from my vehicle, admiring his drive, his abilities, and his determination to be a successful employee at MOD Pizza.

He’s making pizzas on his own, learning new skills on each shift, talking to customers, staying focused, and crushing his own goals. Autism speaks. Autism works. Autism is focusing on abilities versus disabilities. I’m proud. So proud.

Join us for this year's MCTX Independence Day Festival! Located at Houston Community College's Missouri City Campus (1600 Texas Parkway) and taking place from 4-9 p.m., this annual event will feature live music, delicious food, carnival games, and of course, fireworks.

Our Missouri City Parks & Recreation Department recently became a Certified Autism Center. I asked them to coordinate a sensory-friendly family yoga class and they delivered!
