Hi, my name is Dave. I've had the pleasure (and sometimes displeasure because let’s be honest there is a lot of bu****it flying around on social media when it comes to fitness) of working in the fitness industry for nearly 20 years. I never set out to do this as my career, it started off as a summer job at university and then turned into something I realised I loved doing because the smile on my clients faces when they achieved their goals motivated me to learn and be better just as they wanted to be!
When I started training people to learn anything you needed to pick up a book. The great thing about books, well it used to be like this is you need to be able to prove what you are saying when you write them unlike some of the twaddle that comes out on Facebook, Instagram, Netflix et al.
I too bought into a lot of misinformation and lost track of genuinely what was important when it came to achieving what you set out to achieve. I realised that only half of what most people were saying is true but the problem I had, and I know you are having is which half is right and why. What this means is I've made every mistake in the book but luckily, I've learnt from them so you don’t need to.
The one and only thing you need to be successful in everything you do, including fitness related goals is, be consistent. There are plenty ways of skinning a cat and consistency is far more important than being optimal which is what most people will tell you!
What I've put together at new project plan is a coaching system that gives the option of using whatever tool you like but take away the nonsense that they use to sell it. Fitness is simple so we like to keep it that way.
