Lots of scrub Jay’s in for a meal They all just decended from the sky at once! quite the sight❤️
Starting the holiday season! A little story about the art shown here. the turkey was drawn by hand on my lap in 1982. It was my first Thanksgiving with my darling husband, John. he was cooking dinner in his house in Snowmass and I drew this turkey
My father was in the poultry, business, turkeys and chickens. in fact, I was on the cover of international turkey and chicken news. I think it was called probably 1950. I had a little cowgirl outfit on that I got in Denver.😍.
Here’s a little display of various art of mine.
On the wall capital Peak. Giclee
On the table, turkey drawing
The only Thanksgiving card we got this year but it’s my favorite.
On the right wall 36 by 24 inch original oil
From the lip of the gorge
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Remember and be grateful for our many blessings all throughout the year is key to happiness. To especially celebrate Gratitude universally with our love❤️
The tiny little Navajo sculpture from Bluff Utah
I started buying some of this woman’s pieces back in the 80s Betsy Namoki. We went back in 2015 and her granddaughters are making these figurines now. Look at the Navajo Santa, bringing the chicken and the presents to his people.
We just had a wonderful stay at our favorite hotel in Santa Fe. We were treated to a wonderful performance from Lakota all original art throughout the hotel it was phenomenal!
Some of these paintings have flown the coop.
Glad I did this post over a year ago and I can see it again!
Just getting started😎
It’s all about change! This pumpkin has changed the least of all of our pumpkins. We have carved over 43 years. And is it because of the design or because of the pumpkin? 🤓

The Dahlia prayer flags!! One of the flowers is still attached to a plant. The sixth from the left as you’re looking at it. Had to make some bouquets for the counter. Oh darn❤️. Took a Lovely ride today. Check out that blue sky.
The easel. Some work chosen while we’re doing all of our gardening to view! John picked my portrait of Bart, the bear. This painting was commissioned by Colorado State University, veterinarian school to paint Bart, whom they were treating for cancer, in 1998.
A really great article is on my website: http://camithompsonartist.com/uploads_ed/files/Best%20in%20West%20UT%20Apr%2098.pdf
You’ll see the article on me, presenting the painting of Bart the Bear with Doug Seus, his owner, who raised BART from a cub. A Kodiak bear cub by the way. Largest bear on the planet.
I show this bear with my dahlias. Biggest bear, biggest flowers. Next to Bart in the painting is a huge plant that grows on the island of Kodiak.
It’s called devils club it grows way over my head so it shows you the size of this bear
Pretty cool if I do say so myself 😍
Fantastic cloud outside tonight!
We had a glorious rain last night in a lot of the day today. Much needed. The dahlias are dancing with joy.❤️
Wonderful visitors, Linda and Chip Bishop haven’t seen in more than 20 years!! having a ball
I very seldom post my paintings that have sold
But this I have to share I painted this painting in 1995. It has been John’s favorite for years. I have only showing it once a New Mexico at my solo show at the Fechin house. It just sold.!! Lovely lady who saw it in my catalog she put her finger down on it and said I want that. Remarkable to me after all these years and I’m so grateful that someone recognize this beautiful piece. I tracked these horses in November 1995. In the Indian lands around Chinle.
Got to cut this beauty this morning! Really huge
Kelvin Floodlight Dahlia❤️
Three small Dahlia paintings. Painted the summer of 2022. I’m comparing a lot of my paintings to the actual flowers this year, which is very interesting!
Waiting on the rain! Been enjoying our garden today, relaxing on the porch. The dahlias are as beautiful as I’ve ever seen them❤️
Rain on Me!!

Len Olender, a new collector of mine, and a very old friend shared this photo of his home in Aspen.
“Aspen grove” was purchased by Len recently and I’m so happy to be part of his extensive art collection! Splitting his time between London and Aspen during the year, Len chose this summer scene of Aspen trees, an oil painting, 14 x 11.
The small mountain painting, which I did from the top of Telluride ski area, looking over toward lizardhead pass, 8 x 10 oil, went out the door to another collector of mine in Aspen this summer.
Living and painting in the mountains surrounding the RFV for 24 years was so incredible! I am grateful for the experience and all the really wonderful people who touched my life❤️
Ella went to bed.

Just a quick video shot in my studio. Getting ready for the Questa studio tour. Organizing art and working on a small painting of our garden.
I’m so happy that we have another year to look forward to our beautiful Dahlias! Big buds coming out on a lot of plants right now.
Every garden painting I have done is unique and this one 11 x 14 oil on canvas about 2/3 finished.
I love to paint❤️!
Great photography. The Pug hopping over the thing with a wild animal we know it was probably photo shopped. I will forget that.
The expressions on these animals faces are so true to nature ❤️
“Mariah”
10 x 10 oil on canvas
First painting that I did after double cataract eye surgery this past spring. I found painting after taking a year off kind of like riding a bike
Only very different. Hand eye coordination, much better. It’s always a challenge and I love it❤️
My painting “The Glad Patch” 24 x 18 oil on linen is now at the Questa Public Library in a show featuring artists who will be in our Questa studio tour in August.
This is a great way for people to get an overview of the fabulous art that will be offered on the tour.
Come to the opening this Saturday, 2 to 4, and enjoy fine music, meet some of the artists, view the art in a beautiful setting with great light(!!) and grab a bite to eat. Hope to see you there.
