Rob Armstrong for Ararat Rural City Council
I am running for Council in 2020. Ararat is a great place to live but I think we can do better, do m Hi, Rob Armstrong here.
Thanks for taking the time to have a read of my little spiel. I can benefit the whole community if I am elected to Council. I am a sixth generation farmer in the Langi Logan district which gives me a solid understanding of the area and issues that face our community. In addition to being a lifetime local I have extensive business experience in a number of areas. It is this experience that gives me
Our Local farmer and their farms, this is the time they need immense support.
I have known this amazing friend, farmer and my customer "Rob Armstrong" who has always been there in thick and thin.
We need to know our growers, and producers. They need us and we need them more.

This is Rob Armstrong. He is 100% for Ararat Rural City. Rob will bring a fresh energy and enterprise to Council, with a strong background in business management. He recognises we have opportunities to build relationships so that we can grow and thrive across our whole community – now and well into the future. Rob has worked hard for personal success in primary production, value-adding, and project management. He will apply the same drive to deliver positive outcomes for the people who live, work and play here. He gets stuff done.
I have thought long and hard about how to approach this election campaign. It has been a privilege to serve as Mayor, civic leader of our community. With leadership comes responsibility that I believe includes being proactive in encouraging good councillor candidates. I have had many conversations with terrific people across our community in recent months, discussing how important it is that Ararat Rural City continues to build a high standard of civic service in this coming term and how doing that will encourage even better candidates, I believe, to stand for council in 2024.
One of the most frequent questions I heard four years ago when I first stood was “who else should I vote for?”. That’s a great question, and I have a well-considered answer: I give my support to current councillor Peter Beales, and new candidates Henry Burridge, Rob Armstrong, and Jane Goninon. Each have their own perspective with different ideas and experiences but importantly, recognise that Ararat needs councillors who are capable of working together respectfully. I look forward to telling you more about why I have faith in their individual abilities over the next few days.
A bit of help goes a long way. Bishal and I replaced the sink in the kitchen in preparation for the new dinner menu now on offer. Get a great meal and support local business growing in Ararat
