Ellas ofrecerán un taller informativo para la comunidad local.
Según la OMS, las parteras pueden proporcionar alrededor del 90% de la atención necesaria, pero representan menos del 10% de la fuerza laboral mundial. El mundo necesita 900,000 parteras más. Para 2030, la escasez de parteras será menor (750,000), pero aún habrá una gran brecha entre el número requerido y la fuerza laboral disponible en partería.
Estudiar partería no solo puede impactar a nivel local, sino que también puede extenderse a nivel global.

For today’s , we give a big shout out to our Education Consultant Zul Ruiz Ginés! She is the founder and CEO of KIBI, a continuing education platform for midwives and birth workers.
Zul Ruiz Ginés is not only a midwife and educator, but also an advocate for culturally safe midwifery care. A Licensed Midwife in the states of California and Florida, Zul is currently the Dean of Commonsense Childbirth School of Midwifery, the only midwifery program founded by a Black midwife and pioneer Jennie Joseph. Zul was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and her midwifery education journey began in Temixco, Mexico where she spent nine months learning from an indigenous midwife that opened her heart to the world of midwifery.

Black Midwives Day Conference!!!!
We are so pleased to announce that NBMA's 2024 conference commemorating Black Midwives Day will be held from March 15 - 17, 2024, in Hampton, Virginia. This is NBMA's very first in-person gathering, and we can't wait to share space and build community with you!
Sponsorship opportunities, a call for proposals, registration options, and more details about the conference will be shared in the coming weeks.
All are welcome to attend the conference! But there will be spaces dedicated specifically to NBMA member and non-member Black midwives and Black student midwives.
