It looks like we missed World Bee Day earlier this month (May 20th), so we are celebrating today!

Did you know that there are over 4,000 native bee species in the USA!? 🤔 Illinois alone is home to between 400-500 native bees. 🐝

Native bees are incredibly important for functional ecosystems. They are better pollinators than bumblebees and they often provide niche pollination that provides humans with the flowers and foods we enjoy.

How can you support native bees - and other pollinators? By planting native, doing less clean-up maintenance, mowing less often, and avoiding pesticides/herbicides.
