Pihcintu Brings Home the Silver
This morning in New York City the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences announced that Pihcintu was the Silver Award Winner of this year’s Webby/Anthem Award for Global Awareness Campaign.
‘With 2,000 entries from over 44 countries and celebrated by over 25,000 people during Anthem Community Voice-the 3rd Annual Anthem Awards is our biggest yet” Patricia McLoughlin, General Manager, The Anthem Awards.

Pihcintu is Maine’s own multinational immigrant and refugee girl’s chorus. Formed 18 years ago by Con Fullam, the chorus’s Director, Pihcintu has seen over 400 girls from over 30 countries join their voices in song. They have performed for over 400,000 live from the United Nations to the John F Kennedy for the Performing Arts and to many millions via the media on the Today Show, NPR, Voice of America, United Nations Television, the International Rescue Committee’s YouTube channel, and most recently with their YouTube music video for United Help Ukraine a collaboration between Pihcintu, The Portland Symphony Orchestra and the Magic of Christmas Community Chorus and the Mykhailo Verykivsky Girl’s Art School chorus from Irpin, Ukraine.
Anthem Judges are intellectually diverse leaders from the impact industry with expertise that spans across the Anthem cause areas. The Art School is supported by United Help Ukraine (UHU), a U.S.-based not-for-profit organization with a mission to provide humanitarian, medical and psychological support to the people of Ukraine.

To help commemorate Martin Luther King Day, FA invited the The Pihcintu Multicultural Chorus for a very special concert at the LHE/PAC on Monday, January 20th. FA chorus students along with the choir from Fryeburg's New Church joined them at the performance's finale.
