Gangs of Wasseypur, The classic revenge drama directed Anurag Kashyap will always remembered for its earthy script, Realism and epic dialogues but one that none could manage is the ensemble cast that gave Indian cinema umpteen brilliant actors.

Manoj Bajpayee was the only big name in GOW but today when we look back, the film highlighted artists like Pankaj Tripathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Rajkumar Rao, Jaideep Ahlawat, Richa Chaddha, Huma Qureshi who all got the name dame through GOW series.

Probably the best thing happened to Indian cinema in recent years.

These films have grown with time, and people understood what a clean comedy with comedy of errors can be.

Brilliant comic timing of Akshay kumar and impeccable grip of Priyadarshan on this genre is deadly when combined, we hope for a Hera Pherish experience with them again, pretty soon.

Killing Test Cricket- Test cricket is already a dying art thanks to various cricketing leagues, scarcity of fans in stadiums and even on telecasts.

While Test cricket remains the pinnacle of the game which tests technique and determination of players, it remains the longest format of any sports (5 day game).

Revolution of t20 cricket and money around it has allured cricketers and fans yet teams like India, England and Australia are giving their all to make the game popular as it still possess the core fanbase.

On other side, their is PCB and Pakistan cricket who all given their best to dull the game with their approach and pitches lately.

Joshimath, a spiritual and cultural epicentre in Uttarakhand near Badrinath dham is dying a rather rapid death, thanks to years of negligence and complacency by ‘the governments’ and whosoever is responsible.

The residents who are some 20000 now are fearing the end of their land, their homes, their works and their identity.

The pain and fear couldn’t be understood, none can imagine the evading dreams, their lands. The truth still is scary and haunting, it’s almost certain that major part of the town won’t survive for long and that’s hard one.

The blame goes on extended construction for tourism and residents with time, miserable drainage system of the town, Construction of power projects by NTPC and Construction of all weather roads.

The story is harsh and hard, who is responsible and what can be done will have a debate but who suffers in all of it, The common people…💔

Shree Late SundarLal Bahuguna is one prominent name in Indian modern History and Uttarakhand in particular.

While we run after development and pseudo better and modern life, Shree Bahuguna gave his life for the environment.

He was pioneer of Chipko movement in 1970’s which was a movement against deforestation.

He also led freedom movement with Gandhian ideology and was part of Vinoda Bhaves Sarvoday Movement.

He sternly believed in non violence and followed Mahatma Gandhi and Shri Dev Suman.

Shree Bahuguna strictly displayed his stand against construction Tehri Dam as it led to immense about forest dent and immersion villages. He was on hunger strike for 56 continuous days for the same.

He promoted that Ecology is permanent Economy and lived by his belief of Nature being the primary source of life.

Coaching started as support system to education but now has become a parallel system with many unethical players, who checks on them is a thing to observe…

Every IPL auction highlights the same story of money being spilled on cricketers and same cricketers are left out or released pretty much soon, May be went to other franchises for minimal amounts, does this shift within a year or two justly the skill and talent of one cricketer? No

No player becomes big or small by the amount one gets by franchise, It’s the game and display of skills that matters. Media and fans bombard the players with immense pressure or trolls depending on the performances in the league.

Historically not many players have justified the amount they have received and they aren’t responsible for it, it’s a sport and forms are temporary. Jaydev Unadkat, Yuvraj Singh, Kylie Jamieson, Nicolas Puran , Chris Morris and many players haven’t performed in the Indian Premier League and have made headlines for the prices they received. That doesn’t make them any less a player.

Kane Williamson, Warner, Watson, Du plesis, Trent boult, Surya kumar Yadav, Yuzi Chahal, KL Rahul, Chris Gayle have been released from their franchises and then went to perform exceptionally well or have been doing great yet released because of a bad season.

Today a player might get 15 Cr and tomorrow they may fall to 2 Cr but he still is the same class.

IPL and leagues have made cricket a business and pseudo fans judge the players with the tags.

While Education continues to amongst the basic need of a human life, it still counts as luxury for a large chunk of population especially residing in rural part of India, in the states of Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, J&K and Rajasthan in particular.

The reason might have variations , but mostly like financial status, lack of schools, teachers and facilities.

While traveling to a pilgrimage in Uttarakhand I met a bunch of students wanting us to drop them a few kilometres from that specific place, we gave them lift and in our general conversation they informed us that they travel 25 Km everyday to get the basic need of education.

Yes 13 Km on one side of which 9 Km are of high hill treks escaping dense jungles, rocks and bad roads even when talked about strolls.

It’s easy for city people to feel bad about the condition but children were hardly fazed by that yet it’s clear mirror that what we don’t even think about is a challenge in certain areas of our country.

Everything remains secondary but atleast a child deserves a school and a hospital close to them. The basic needs of food, shelter and Education.

Happy India is still one Urban Thing, Rural India sees a different mirror 📚

Kantara- Fine work of art that becomes spectacular in the climax.

Art is a subjective form of representation and it might or not appeal to all, Kantara being raved for its close to ground reality and effort is one fine movie but calling it extraordinary is subjective choice.

Yes, it captures the place, Culture and rituals beautifully, also the acting part especially in climax by Rishabh Shetty is outstanding yet it remains a good watch.

It would be a lie if one says they haven’t seen a story where a irresponsible and unscathed man turns the masiha for their people when betrayed by their own ( Rich and powerful) parts.

The story ads mythology and ritual regional area and it does becoming appealing. The background ads to it.

It does have that old 70s and 80s theme but lifts up with touch of core touch. A good watch nevertheless.

Being a team Game, Football is never about an individual or two but a collaborative effort of 11 players pitch, substitutes and management.

Sewer Workers and the ignorance-

How many times we walk by the street and just don’t notice the big opened potholes, busy on our phones and chit chats we just ignore what’s going on there. There might be man cleaning up our mess and calling death, yes that’s disturbing but truth.

In past 5 years more than 500 sewer workers have lost their life while they were cleaning that dirt, that mess and that garbage produced by us only.

Every month approximately 10 people die in those sewer holes and no one cares, it continues and probably it will continue.

We can’t standby that, can’t take that smell and can’t look at that scene of floating disgusts and then there is someone cleaning it all.

With all the modern world tech and science, what governments can do to stop this, can this be human free, can we stop these unwanted, unnoticed ends???

Drishyam 2- Why it’s such a rage at the Box Office? 🎦

Ajay Devgn led Drishyam 2 has been exceptional at Box Office especially in Hindi Belt and there are certain reasons that it’s doing this well even though being a remake of Malayalam Movie by the same name.

•Well executed and acted remake with sprinkles of new surprises- Ajay Devgn, Akshay Khanna, Shriya Saran, Tabu and other actors did their subtle parts with immense conviction. That’s always the first part for story to work.
• Malayalam movie not available in Hindi language also helped the remake in Hindi as large chunks of audience didn’t watch it in original language.
• Drishyam has been superhit on telecasts and hence made a good fan base for it in these years, the audience were curious about the proceedings and hence these footfalls.
•Amazing woke on background music, screenplay and climax, well it together by the director, Abhisekh Pathak.

Still we hope, remakes don’t become the trend again, we seek original content.

Chittu Pandey- Sher E Ballia

Freedom Fighter Chittu Pandey did something unprecedented and unreal when he and his supporters made Ballia free from British Empire, Yes the first taste of Independence was tasted by Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh and that too about 5 years before from 15 August 1947.

The story is largely unknown and not glorified but it gives pride when one knows how there were freedom fighters in every corner and gave their life’s for today’s’ free India.

Chittu Pandey a Gandhian by ideology was prominent name in Ballia and eastern UP in Pre Independence era, while he was in custody for his demand of Freedom along with other leaders, a large chunk of people arrived with weapons to get him out to which Police officials requested Shri Pandey to co operate and his demands would be fulfilled.

He demanded their own constitution in 1942 itself but police denied it on next day when also led to massacre in the district, people united and Ballia was made free from British rule and Chittu Pandey was made the Collector. Though it didn’t last for more than few days as large chunk British army was sent to re capture the place.

May be a short period but India tasted Independence with these small stories and eventually we were free in 1947.

It has helped in generation of Electricity, helps in irrigation and water supply to immense chunk of population yet it is made on dead beds of emotions, of the the town and hundreds of villages.

Paan Singh Tomar- The character Late Sir Irfan khan lived to core. The best biopic made in Indian cinema till date.

We in India have habit of categorising films success based on its box office collection but in process we forget that Cinema in itself is an art, and the parameters should be the story, screenplay, acting and direction for it being the success we tag.

Paan Singh Tomar directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia remains the best work done on a biopic, here about a athlete turned to dacoit played with soul by Late Irfan khan.

The story captures the struggle of a common boy making it in Indian Army, best sportsperson and finally circumstances and system leading him to take the gun for his land and people.

The dialogues, the pauses and the screenplay to the climax holds our nerves, a small movie that makes a huge impact.

Amongst the best Irfan khan, Paan Singh remains the best biopic enrolled in big screen.

Garam Masala is surely a less talked about masterpiece entertainer by same team of Hera Pheri.

The situational and comedy of errors is directed by Priyadarshan starring Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Rimi Sen, Manoj Joshi and Asrani of which most were also part of Hera pheri series.

Akshay Kumar was at his comic prime as Mac and May be that not a popular opinion but that act is probably his best in this genre.

The dialogues, the situations, and Performances are still relevant after 17 years and they do bring that rolling laughter.

Some hilarious scenes from start to end and impeccable direction makes this one an absolute fun.

The movie also has huge meme culture potential with its dialogues and acts, the team delivered another classic and I hope today’s generation watches it and relish the peak of comedy once we had.
