Rabun County Schools will be closed tomorrow due to the potential for severe weather on Tuesday, Jan. 9. The National Weather Service predicts widespread damaging winds, heavy rains, and flash flooding starting tonight through tomorrow with the possibility of mudslides.

All schools and offices will be closed for students and staff on Tuesday, Jan. 9. All afternoon events, games, and practices are canceled for Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024.

We will continue to work with local authorities and Emergency Management to stay up to date on road and community conditions.

PTO is busy getting raffle packages together for our upcoming Fall Festival. If you know of a business or individual that would like to donate to this event, please contact our front office staff or email us at [email protected] so we may contact the person or business. 1 week from today on September the 8th is our first event of the year! Please join us for the FREE outdoor movie! Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy some popcorn and the new Super Mario Bros movie while enjoying our gorgeous mountain views. The movie will begin around 8pm. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

If any parent, grandparent, guardian, aunt/uncle or anyone involved at RCPS is free tomorow, we would love to help give the staff a somewhat duty free lunch from 11-1 for Teacher Appreciation Post. We would love to get as many volunteers as possible to make this happen for them. Please make sure you have your license and check in at the front office. Thanks again!

RCPS Fall Festival is this Thursday from 5:30-7:30pm. Costumes are encouraged but optional. If you signed up to bring in a grade level item or cake walk item, please do so this week! We can’t wait to see everyone!!

As of now, movie night is still ON! We will post on Facebook if we have to cancel it due to weather. 🤞🏻

USDA Waivers allowing students to eat school meals at no cost expired on June 30, 2022. While breakfast will remain free for all Rabun County students, students must pay for lunch in the upcoming school year if you do not qualify for free/reduced meals. Primary/Elementary lunch is $2.25 and Middle/High is $2.50. Use the QR code above or go to www.ezmealapp.com to apply for free or reduced meals. You must complete a new application each school year. Apply today in order to ensure your student receives the correct benefits. You can request a paper application by visiting the front office of the school or board of education. This week is Teacher Appreciation Week and we searched high and low and CAMP find any better staff than ours! Camping is our theme this year and we need some volunteers. We need some volunteers for tomorrow- Tuesday from 11-12:45 to help in the cafeteria and on Friday, May 6th we are having a cookout from 11-12:45 and need some volunteers! We need some to help grill and run the cookout and some to help in the cafeteria. Reminder: The lottery for 2022-23 pre-k at RCPS closes this Friday, March 11. In order to have your child's name in the lottery, you must complete an application on our district pre-k page no later than March 11. Names will be drawn Monday, March 14th to fill our pre-k slots. The RCPS PTO is looking for some parents that would like to be on our board. We have some great events coming up and need some involvement. Most of our last years amazing board moved on to the elementary school so we have some spots to be filled. Rabun County Primary Parents:

We have a few spots remaining for our FREE after school program that begins September 7th. Students receive educational assistance, extra specials, enrichment activities, and free meals. Free transportation is also provided. Please contact the RCPS office ASAP for an application.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES-- There have been many phone calls asking for the school supply list. We are so happy to announce that this year, the Rabun County School System will be providing school supplies for all of our students. If your student is at the primary school, you only need to provide a backpack for your student. How Awesome is this?? We know we are excited about it and hope you are as well.

This years Teacher Appreciation week theme is Cruise line. On Monday, the PTO and school administration showed the staff at RCPS how much we appreciate them with a stop in Mexico for a TACO BAR!
