Kez:
Tipped by Phil Taggart as “one of Ireland’s next important voices,” Kez, a musician and singer from Dublin, made her debut with How Can You Not See last October, a bold and heartfelt anthem about self- destruction. She has been tipped by Hotpress as 2023 One to Watch and by Tony Clayton in The Irish Times as one to watch for 2023. Kez is now working behind the scenes, concocting an epic distillation of her experience, drawing on various influences from film scores to rock and folktronica.
Ali Comerford:
Ali is a classically trained violinist, violist and songwriter from Kilkenny, Ireland. Having spent 12 years abroad studying music in both London and New York, she then traveled the world as a freelance musician playing some of the biggest venues including New York’s Carnegie Hall, London’s Royal Albert Hall and Dublin’s National Concert Hall. In 2020 she returned home to Kilkenny to focus on songwriting and released her debut album Knots in 2021 to critical acclaim. Her debut single He Knows was placed on the RTE Recommends list while her album has received continuous airplay on radio across Ireland and the UK including RTE 1 and BBC Ulster. Ali continues to release new music with Cool Girl being featured as a Hotpress track of the day.

Finally, Tied to the Turf is all yours. I couldn't be more proud it and I hope it will resonate with some of you lovely people as well. This was two years in the making and I poured my heart into every detail.

brought some of these songs to life with her genius touch on the violin. I honestly can't listen to the outro of Mothlight without getting a bit weepy 😂 It's a heart-stopping performance. Thank you for being a crucial part of this 🙏🏻

I'm so lucky to have in my corner to make all my ideas for the visuals (including this pic) a reality. I couldn't ask for a better collaborator in this regard. Thank you Mark 🙏🏻
Finally, a huge thank you to my rock, ❤️ Thanks for being by my side through all the stress and tears and for reminding me of why we do this: for the love of music. I'd be lost without ya 😘
'Tied to the Turf' will be with you in 1 week!
I've always taken great comfort in walking barefoot or lying on the ground while in the outdoors. The immediate contact with the soil makes me feel grounded and recharged and fully connected to a place. I remember lying on the ground in my childhood home and my dog came and rested his head on my belly. I would be leaving both that home and my dog for good in the coming days. I imagined roots bursting from the soil and wrapping around us so that I was held there securely and didn't have to say goodbye.
And with that, the first lines of this EP were born, 27/10/18.

A week and a half to go until my debut EP 'Tied to the Turf' is with you all. This is a collection of folk songs about my deep connection to my heritage, the landscape and the kindred spirits that I have encountered.
Special thanks to all who helped bring it together 🙏 Recording & Rehearsal Studios ❤

✨April 7th ✨
I'm buzzing to share this song with you and announce that it's the final single from my upcoming 6 track EP!
'I Must Go' was born from the instinctive, visceral urge to step away from the safety of home and explore new pastures. It is the voice within that tells us that there is more waiting around the corner if we are brave enough to go find it.
With enormous thanks to for engineering, mixing and mastering the track and for making all my visions come to life. Thanks for the violin goodness and to for drumming in
I Must Go will be available on all online platforms on April 7th. Pre-save now through the link in my bio.

The cycles of nature are always churning and life moves forward. We are cleansed by the river of progress.
I will admit, I was always a bit of a geography nerd in school and yes, the river cycle did find its way into my verse. The notion that a droplet of water could flow by me all the way down to the sea, be evaporated into the air, fall as relief rainfall in the mountains and perhaps even make its way down the same river again...that is a both fascinating and intensely humbling thought.
I began writing 'Mother' the night before I left my childhood home. It was obviously a transitional time and many of the sentiments in the song come from having to say goodbye to that chapter of my life. In a way, the song is a lament to the memories that I was leaving behind. At the same time, it is an expression of gratitude for having been raised there and of acceptance that life evolves.

2 days to go until 'Mother' is out in the world. Head to my bio to pre-save it or get tickets for my headline gig in the Cobblestone, where you will hear even more of those tasty violin solos. See you there!
