As an ecomm brand you should have a process in place to optimized pop-up form conversion rate.
The difference between a 2% & 4% popup CVR is massive - it's the difference between adding 20k new subs & 40k new subs over 1 year.
Email in your inbox series 6*
Client: We have a Klaviyo account, and some customers noted that emails are being sent to the spam folder.
It seems Gmail has flagged something in the email or our domain and is not trusting it.
I have SPF, DMARC & DKIM set up correctly. I'm attaching a photo of that as well.
How can you fix this issue?
===
Me: You're on track you just have a few things you need to put in place.
Since you're sending emails through a dedicated domain you should also look out for your list health.
How healthy is your list?
The health of your list will determine whether or not your email should land in spam or primary tab.
Here's what you should do
1. Set-up a sunset flow.
2. Clean your list.
3. Start sending emails to highly engaged segment.
4. Ask for reply so it tells your ISP that they are engaging on your content.
If you implement all this, you should start moving to the primary tab...
What I will implement first is to audit the account and look for loopholes in email content, designs, links, etc.
Then warm up your domain again...
I see a lot of ecomm stores overcomplicate this.
Segmentation can make you extra dozens of thousands of dollars if done properly.
You need to know your customer’s journey, purchase frequency, location, gender and tailor a segment for them.
You can do much with a quick tweak...

In order to keep email deliverability high...
It's advisable to seldom ask fo replies
Do this regularly to boost email engagement because it tells gmail and other email providers that you're a legit sender which helps deliverability.
I have Audited few klaviyo account in the last 30 days and here's what I noticed.
Many ecomm email always bang off with the generic CTA
"Buy Now", "Shop Now", "Eat Now", etc.
Even your granny uses this too, so why not get creative and personalised it?
Hyper Specific CTA's win
Instead of going with generic CTA, try something like...
"Shop Our Best Selling {{Product}}"
or
"Claim Your 15% Discount Now"
or
"See Why Customers Love It"
You need to think better than the average Jack while crafting email for your store.

Welcome & Abandoned Checkout flows will outperform ALL your flows.
It's worth A/B testing and optimizing them frequently.
You don't want to leave the cash cow flow poorly managed.
Yesterday while I was discussing about the purpose of auditing your klaviyo account.
I skipped an integral part which is "segmentation".
So many ecomm brands are doing it wrong.
The traditional blast everyone with the same campaign on your list should be relooked.
The person that gave such idea should be jailed.
While this might look so innocent it's hurting your deliverability.
Imagine you're selling to different audience in UK,US/Canada.
During Boxing day on 26th Dec you're sending the same campaign to US/Canadian subscribers.
It looks cool, but spam rate might increase.
Same thing like sending a campaign on July 4th to subscribers in the UK.
The purpose of segmentation is to send the right message to the right people while increasing your open rate and getting into the good side of your Internet service provider [ISP]

If you're looking for ways to get it right with your segmentation you might be interested in a free klaviyo account audit.
Send me a message let's fix it.
Welcome series is one of the top revenue generating flows.
I see ecomm brands with 2 emails in their welcome flow. While this might look cool, you're leaving money on the table.
You should have at least 4-6 emails in your welcome series to maximise results.

If your welcome series isn't performing you don't have to worry.

Flows or campaigns?
***
Flow emails
Such as welcome flow, abandoned cart, etc
Are opened 165% more than traditional campaign emails
Crazy right?
Well it's crazier when you understand that
These are automatic emails that send even when you're sleeping making you money on autopilot.

The easiest way to decrease conversions is to send dozens of non-personalized campaigns.
In as much as they want to hear from you. Give them what they want to reduce the friction in buying decision.
That's where the preference page is very vital. Serve them what they want.
Allowed your subscribers to check ☒ how they want to hear from you, they kind of content they are anticipating.
This way your emails will be receptive because you're giving them what they sign up for instead of forcing hot iron down their throat.
This is where segmentation comes into play.

Should you use a shared IP address or a dedicated IP on klaviyo?
If you're handling a big brand as an account manager with a huge sending cap, list above 50k then it's best to use a dedicated IP. This is different from dedicated domain.
One thing you should do when setting up segment.
Let say you want to set up enaged segment to help boost your deliverability.
The standard segment will be 30,60,90 days engaged.
So,I was doing some research on advance segmentation and realised you could also get it hyper personalized.
For instance, you can segment out people that bought a specific product.
or better still segment base on gender. This way you send the right message to the right people.
Go a little deeper with advance segmentation.
We're stuck in the matrix of flexing screenshots and really increasing the profit margin.
Focus more on the backend result than what the dashboard is saying.
Got this client I was working with few months ago.
We were doing pretty fine from the looks of things on the dashboard.
Increased revenue from klaviyo to about 30% which is cool.
One faithful day, I got an email... "hey John, I appreciate all you doing for us but we barely making profits".
This came as a surprise to me, but I sprung to action.
Went in to analyze the problem and find out the discount was killing it.
In the past, he wasn't satisfied with the coupon codes, always keep requesting to add more discounts on flows.
You know objecting this made us had issues in the past so I obliged.
but this time I told him the discounts are killing his profit margin.
had to came up with a strategy to stop sending more campaigns to this existing list and focus on the new subscribers that way, I build a valuable relationship.
then came back to give out more educational content not always % or $ off.
The month wasn't a great month on the dashboard but his profit margin increased.
That's why I said focus on the backend that's where the main result it.

Focusing on building your personal brand will do more good in the long-term.
Have seen this work time without number and any lead coming in are pre-qualified since they have seen you for a while.
And you can't under deliver since you have a reputation to protect.
The greatest sales man is the man who can talk himself into doing what he was meant to do with out giving in to mental ma********on.
often times you do tell yourself "I'm going to do this", but you didn't do anything.
This means you're giving your mind more control over your actions.
Before when I said "I want to post on daily". I still find myself not doing it. So I came up with a plan...
After analysing the event of things that was keeping me from not doing what I supposed to do.
It was simple.
I JUST DO IT WITHOUT THINKING
As simple as that is, it took me time to master my mind...
Whenever I set a task to accomplished and the desired time approach, I'm not giving myself that luxury of time to think, I just do it...
Once your mind start processing it, it brings dozens of excuse.
oh you're very tired, it can wait a bit, you shouldn't push so hard, etc.
If you notice this pattern then you need to pay attention to yourself and start doing more.
Hope this helps...
Yesterday I read tweet on how ecomm stores should stop giving outrageous discount.
You're making them addicted to discount.
Do an A/B test
Same email but one without a discount and see the one with the highest revenue
Are you growing your dashboard or profit margin?
Rule of thumb... Dear ecomm owners, your welcome flow shouldn't be left with the 3 default kalviyo sample.
It breaks my heart seeing that's the only email in your flow
You need more than that, at least 5 to get the most out of your subscribers
They have different buying circle
Email in my inbox series - 1
Maintaining a good email deliverability is like building a credit score.
The more you spend without paying back the lower your chances. [the more emails you send to unengaged subscribers the lower your chances of hitting the primary tab].
A quick solution here is to start paying back your credit spent at the end of the month which means send more emails to subscribers that read and open your emails.
This will enable you to slowly crawl back to the primary tab.
Email in the primary tab = more $$$
