Josh Kessler is a music publishing executive with more than 18 years of experience in artist development and sync licensing. He began his career composing and developing music for Film, TV and advertising. Kessler's music has been heard in 1000's of TV Shows, Films and Advertisements over the years. In 2007 Kessler joined Universal Music Publishing as a creative executive in both A&R and Sync departments before being asked to join the early stages of Downtown Music publishing where he developed their sync licensing platform and build a music catalog called DMS.FM which at its peak looked after the songs of more than 600 independent artists and songwriters for sync licensing. In 2011, Josh left Downtown and joined forces with longtime friend and Grammy winning producer Ariel Rechtshaid to form the Independent music publishing and production company, Heavy Duty. Almost 10 years in now and Heavy Duty's catalog has grown to more than 3500 copyright including songs from artists like The Weeknd, Bon Iver and Frank Ocean, an extensive library of one-stop easy music for sync and a full production division called Heavy Duty Projects specialising in custom music and music supervision for trailers and brands like Apple, Nike, Samsung, Volvo, Gillette and many others.

We are delighted to announce STEVE STRANGE as our keynote speaker for Music Cork 2020. Join us in Cork to hear Steve discuss his career and what it's like working with some of the biggest acts on the planet like Eminem and Coldplay.

Steve started his career as an agent with Prestige in 1991 and was there for a year before returning to Ireland to promote shows with MCD/Wonderland for a 12-month period. He then returned to London to join FAB Agency followed by a year at Solo. He joined Helter Skelter in 1997.

In February 2005, he formed a new independently owned agency with Ian Huffam, Scott Thomas, Jeff Craft and Martin Horne, X-ray. Steve's clients include:
Eminem, Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Queens of the Stone Age, Kodaline and Jimmy Eat World.

Stage times for this weeks free showcases in Cork! You need to register for your free ticket for Wednesday night via Cyprus Avenue Website but you can just show up on Thursday night as no ticket is required (subject to capacity). Come along and enjoy some fantastic new Irish talent!
