I’m happy to say that received a clean bill of health yesterday, and got his vaccines, yay!! He was really scared to get in the car, but he let me pick him up and put him in, and I was able to clip him in, so that went better than expected. They were able to handle him at the vet with no issues, although we did muzzle him, just in case. Especially since the vet is a man, and Nico has an aversion to men. He won’t let men approach him without wanting to run away, but he will approach men on his own and make friends. He really just needs to be ignored by new people, and he warms up quickly. If you try too hard, he thinks you’re up to no good, and won’t come within 10 feet of you. He plays so well with other dogs, wants to play with the cat, but the cat isn’t down for that, and regularly puts Nico in check, and Nico runs away. Nico couldn’t care less about our chickens, and he absolutely adores kids! He does like to play rough though, so I recommend he go to a home with kids 12+. After being abandoned in his back yard, and living back there completely alone, Nico deserves a loving home!! Could it be yours? I wish it was mine, but I haven’t allowed myself to bond with him yet with everything else we have going on right now. He needs patience, love, and training, and I’m not in a place to give him the training part right now. Please share this!!! My next step is to get him neutered and chipped, and then he will be ready for his furever home!!

did great his second night! He finally decided to come upstairs, and happily checked out the house. He still slept downstairs, and it took effort to get him down there. He clearly isn’t used to stairs, but is slowly getting for comfortable with that. He also took it upon himself to push through the doggy door to come in, YAY! But then he peed in the house, twice 🫤. Which is weird, considering he can go all night downstairs without an accident. So, all around, he’s WONDERFUL!! He’s friendly with everything, but takes warming up with some people. Very wary of new people, ZERO aggression. He needs some basic training, which he has obviously had, but not consistently, as well as some house training. Also, leash training. I’m working on trying to get him neutered, and vaxxed, and then we will see about finding him a home. Please share!!! I’ll post his whole story in a bit.

Okay everyone, this boy needs help. After 6 hours, and with 5 people, we were able to catch him, yay! He settled quickly in the back of my car, but only after being carried to the car, and lifted in by 4 people. I don’t know if he’s housebroken, but probably not considering he clearly hasn’t had any training. I’m willing to bet he has spent his entire life in that back yard with zero vet care. He has interacted with my 9 year old, my dog, my cat, and our chickens with absolutely ZERO aggression. This dog doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body!!! He is incredibly scared and pretty shut down except with me. I managed to get him into our dog run area, but now he seems stuck because it seems he doesn’t know how to use stairs. He needs lots of training with patience, love, and kindness in order to come out of his shell, and I swear he will be the BEST DOG!! Please ,please, please share this far and wide!!! Let’s find Nico a loving home! A go fund me is being started by Keith-Krystal Figueroa at some point today, so please look for that. Nico isn’t neutered yet, and I’m guessing he has never had a single vaccination either. Anything helps! Including sharing this post. You can also contact Tara M Snead for info. Thanks!

I sure will miss this boy! We had a good run, almost 7 years! Too bad Drakie and his mom had to move. It’s never easy saying goodbye to one of my babies!

Yay!! Kaia is here! These 2 have been at this for 2 hours now. Pretty sure Honey will outlast Kaia with her endless amounts of energy!
