This first piece of work is something that i was initially scared to release. Music is not easy, for anybody that has at least tried to freestyle or write poetry to say the least. It takes a lot out of you just like any other job that you love to do. Underdog story is a story of me, myself. It starts off by just giving a brief back story to when i first did music ever.
My 5th grade talent show at Wilkerson elementary out by PRP. I performed “With you” by Chris brown. I had so much stage fright it was unreal but i kept going. Top 5 most nerve racking moments I’ve had in my life.
The story proceeds to tell you about the mind state i adopted over the years of “from being from out of state”. Not feeling like i belonged in my own city. Nobody wants to really see you win unless it’s by their own hands.
Transitioning into a moment in life where i overdosed. Hands down the scariest moment I’ve had in my life and the most pain I’ve ever been through. I was in a dark place at that time but still i made music.
The bridge just talks about some of the music i miss and some of my friends and/or family miss. How we loved the old rappers but we also love the some of the new generation too and that’s how i felt about myself. You’re going to get the old and new me.
Then that’s where i really dive in to what an underdog means to me. In terms of family, strangers, etc. All in all i hope you guys feel the way i feel when i wrote this and continue to follow me through this journey. Much love
