I spent the weekend with my Sorors from & - the Blazing Southwest Region, and left filling so full! The mission, the work, the sisterhood, and most importantly, the service continues.

As a former president of , it was such a treat to spend time with my former advisors and a few of my line sisters. Thank you to our International President and Regional Director for your leadership! The highlight of my weekend, was sharing these moments with my sister in Delta and real life, .and.only ❤️

With summer right around the corner, I wanted to get a jump on sprucing up our small backyard patio space. I knew would have just what I needed!

Kohl’s has so many new styles at great prices! From date nights for the parents, hang-outs with the teens, and playdates for Summer, we needed something for everyone! I love these striped pillows to match our current rug. We added some life with this planter that I’m thinking of planting some herbs in. A little in my feelings this week as it’s been almost a year since my babies graduated from high school!!

It’s such an exciting and emotional time for seniors, parents and caretakers as you prepare for the road to college! It feels like we were just scrambling for grad parties and college prep!

On the blog, Kam and I have compiled a College Essentials guide for all the things we needed to create a cozy home away from home for our girl. Being in an atmosphere that feels warm and even familiar can have a positive impact on a student’s success. We’ve also included essentials for campus and random things we forgot about.

I was going through Summer’s backpack and found her Mother’s Day crafts from school. One was a book titled “My Mom” by Summer. There were drawing of me and some of us both It talked about things I like and things that we do together. This one REALLY made my heart smile. I pray that my children see my love for God. I pray that I lead them to Him.

This completely made my Mother’s Day week. 💗

To the kids who call me, “Mom”… THANK YOU!

It’s a privilege to love and grow through live with you! You will make mistakes, and so will I, but together we are still the best team. I wouldn’t trade yall for the world!

This blue Nine West dress is going to make a statement every. single. time! I’ve already taken this floral Lauren Conrad dress for a spin and got so many compliments!

Your instaniece has made waves her freshman year, and I’m SO proud of all of her accomplishments! I’m still trying to wrap my head around her already preparing for sophomore year! We literally were just scrambling last year to get her all set up for her big move to the AUC!

In other news… y’all, please take care of yourselves mentally and physically. I learned very on in corporate that my mental needed breaks too. I took non-smoke breaks, because why not. I detached myself from the corny group lunches which still only talked about work. I skipped the after work hangouts. I took mental days off simply because I needed a break. Be wise and take your time in moderation of course, but please put yourselves first!

👩🏽‍💻Y’all insta-niece was recognized during the spring Convocation for making the Dean’s list

✝️ Summer and I have been decorating and shopping for Easter basket fillers, so I had to remind her that Easter is about Jesus!

I’ve got a full weekend of birthday, Galentine’s, and Game Day fun lined up. What are y’all getting into?

We’ve only got 28 days (well 29 this year) to celebrate Black History Month, and even that is crowded by Valentine’s Day and the Super Bowl. It’s even more reason for us to be intentional at home about sharing our history with our kids.

This year I made themed gift baskets for the kiddos. I absolutely LOVE stocking up on the cards! There were so many other awesome finds in the Bullseye section at Target. Comment GIFT for almost everything I picked up!

How are you celebrating this year?

I’m smiling, but y’all, I’m tired. I’m actually tired of being tired. Ya feel me?

They say you’ll move when you get tired enough, and I’m finally ready to do just that. I love a cute work-out set, but it’s the working out that gets me. I hate it. I have all the tools and don’t use them. I have a whole folder of saved posts from my fitness girlies never to be seen again. 😫 Lately, I’ve noticed a significant decrease in my energy levels, but you know what hasn’t slowed down, life… these kids.

I want to be active. I want to be and feel healthier. Most importantly, I want to be here for myself and my kids… grandkids.

I woke up with so much intention to conquer the day, and I ended up not doing much of anything. Instead, I rested. I felt like I wasted my day until I was reminded that rest is actually SERVING my body. I know this fitness journey ahead isn’t going to be easy, but I’m hoping that eventually, it will get easier and I may even enjoy it… maybe! I’m not going to count myself out just yet.

No matter how many times you fall off, be thankful for a new opportunity to start again and get back on! You got this.
