Hey everyone! Just wanted to give you all an update on what's been going on at Nessie Audio. We are currently undergoing a major overhaul, which includes transitioning from a PC to an all Mac ecosystem. This means that our music production and social media content creation has slowed down for the time being, but we are working hard to get back up and running as soon as possible.
We're excited to get settled into our new workflow and create even better content than before. In the meantime, we'd love to hear what everyone else is working on in their studios! Drop a comment and let us know.
Step up your recording game with a professional vocal chain! Here's a step-by-step guide to create a top-notch vocal chain:
Start with a high-quality microphone - this is the foundation of a great vocal chain.
Add a pop filter to reduce plosives and protect your microphone from saliva.
Connect your microphone to a preamp or an audio interface for extra gain and clarity.
Use a compressor to control the dynamic range of your voice and prevent clipping.
Add equalization to sculpt your sound to your liking and enhance specific frequencies.
Finally, add a touch of reverb or delay to add depth and space to your vocals.
With a well-crafted vocal chain, you'll be on your way to recording amazing vocals that stand out from the rest!

The EMT 140 Plate Reverb revolutionized the sound of music forever. With its lush and spacious sound, it became a staple in recording studios worldwide and was used on countless iconic recordings. Before the EMT 140, reverb was generated using chambers, springs, and other mechanical devices. But the plate reverb was a game-changer, providing a more realistic and natural sound that helped to shape the sound of popular music for decades to come. If you're a music lover or an audio enthusiast, take a moment to appreciate the impact that the EMT 140 Plate Reverb has had on the sound of music. It's amazing to think that this iconic piece of gear is still being used today, over 60 years after it was first introduced.

Are you struggling to get your guitar tracks to sit just right in the mix? 🎧 🎸
Here are a few tips to help you achieve a balanced and punchy guitar sound. 🎵
Compression: Use a moderate amount of compression to even out the dynamics and add punch to your guitar tracks.
EQ: Cut any unnecessary frequencies that may be muddying up the mix. Boost frequencies that bring out the natural character and clarity of the guitar.
Reverb: A touch of reverb can add dimension and depth to your guitar tracks, making them sit well in the mix.
Panning: Experiment with panning your guitar tracks to different positions in the stereo field to create space and balance in the mix.
