Pine and Sea Outdoor Gear Consignment

Outside is free, but sometimes getting the right gear or apparel can be costly.

The goal of Pine and Sea is to make sure sellers get fair return for their well-loved gear, and to help people get outside comfortably and affordably.

LISTING:
With the COVID-19 Pandemic currently ongoing, Pine and Sea will operate in the following manner:

- Pine and Sea listing fee is $4 per item.
- Photos of each item can be sent to [email protected]. Posing suggestions can be found below.
- The seller can suggest a price. Pine and Sea may offer suggestions for pricing, or photo presentation in order to enhance the likelihood of a sale.
- Items are due one week before the end of each month and will be listed on the first weekend of the following month. For ex: Items for July, 2020 will be due by the 26th of June and posted on July 4 and 5.
- First come, first served on items. Sellers are welcome to monitor their posts and accept a sale, but Pine and Sea will also keep an eye on proceedings and inform the seller as soon as possible.
- Prices are firm.
- Items will remain on the page unless sold or until the next batch becomes available.
- Pine and Sea will connect the buyer with the seller information to arrange payment and pickup. Please remember COVID-19 social distancing protocols when making these arrangements. Curb-side, contactless sales are advised.
- When a sale is confirmed the item will be taken down.

Pine and Sea will eventually move to a true consignment format and gradually change its system when the COVID-19 situation has calmed down.

Posing your gear for a sale:

- Make sure the photo is in focus.
- For jackets and pants, place them on some grass or on the floor and take the photo from above. For jackets, show them with arms out and at least one photo with the zipper undone and wide open.
- For sweaters, keep arms naturally open.
- For any and all above, showing the items “in action” would help.

In your emails, please list the following:

- Number each item. Indicate age, size, fit, and any blemishes such as a stain or tear.
- Designate its use using the following levels: “Well-worn” “Moderate-use” “Well-used, under-maintained” “Well-loved” and “barely used”.
- Indicate a fair price for the item. Pine and Sea may offer feedback on the likelihood of a sale.

The fine print:

- Pine and Sea is not liable for the performance of any gear sold through this platform.
- Pine and Sea reserves the right to refuse posting if there is any suspicion an item on offer is stolen.
- Pine and Sea reserves the right to refuse posting for any number of reasons.
- Items posted one month cannot be listed again the following month.
