Relationship is a way in which 2 or more people are connected or the way in which they behave towards one another.
The relationships that we keep are very important.
There are two categories of relationships. They are;
1.Relationship with God
2 Relationship with men
1. Relationship with God.
Genesis 1:26,27, John 4:23-24, Genesis 3:8,9, 2 Thessalonians 3:10.
This refers to how we relate with God through fellowship, worship, obedience, etc. God is perfect and is always ready to fellowship with man. So the only problem that arise from this kind of relationship is from us.
Best Way to keep your relationship with God.
1. Obey all His instructions. John 15:14
2. Set a time for fellowship. Luke 21:38, Luke 10:38-42
3. Keep studying & meditating on God's word. Joshua 1:8, 2 Timothy 2:15
4. Live a holy life. 1 Peter 1:15-16
B. Relationship with men.
This refers to how we interact with our fellow men on a daily basis.
3 types of this category of relationship exists.
i. Vertical Upper relationship.
This refers to the type of relationship we keep with those above us, i.e, our superiors, in terms of age, profession, career, spirituality, etc.
ii. Horizontal.
This refers to the type of relationship we keep with our colleagues, mates or counterparts in any sphere of life.
iii. Vertical Lower relationship.
This refers to the type of relationship we keep with those below us or our subordinates in any sphere of life.
We stand to benefit from all the categories of relationship.
In order to maintain good relationship with our fellow men, we must be mindful of the following;
1. Know your place in every relationship you are. Mathew 16:13 - 18
2. Watch your lips. Prov 13:3, James 3:2

4. Be ready to forgive. Mathew 6:14 & 15, Genesis 50:17
