Time to stand up to exploitative landlords and real estate agents!
When a real estate agent tries to evict someone into homelessness, how can we as a community resist this?
Answer: We peacefully stand in the way and physically obstruct them from doing so.
We're organising non-violent direct action training on how to defend against evictions. These training sessions will focus on the practical logistics of what we'll do during an eviction defense action, as well as covering some of the relevant areas of law and explaining what participants should and shouldn't do in order to minimise the risk of arrest.

Looking for something to do tonight?
We're playing a set at Freestyle Fridays, one of the city's best regular hip-hop nights. There'll be open mic cyphers throughout the night where anyone is welcome to jump up and rap a few bars, or you can just chill on the couches and watch some of Brissie's best MCs weave verses.
Doors open at 8pm and we'll be performing sometime between 9pm and 11pm depending on the vibe. This is a BYO event. Tickets available online or on the door.

If anyone's interested in checking out a slice of Brissie's local underground hip-hop scene, you should come along to this gig on Friday night. My spoken word band Rivermouth will be playing a feature set, alongside a massive crew of local MCs.
Freestyle Fridays August 2023 is a solid monthly convergence of hip-hop fans at 39 Balaclava St, Woolloongabba.
A lot of the night's programming is freestyle cyphers, so any rappers who are feeling tempted to spit a few verses will be very welcome to jump on the mic.
Tickets are cheaper if you buy them online before the night.

Update on the last post... Someone DID film a little moment during our set at Earth Frequency Festival on Saturday night. Here's an excerpt from the track Subtropical Metropolis, which is about gentrification and urban activism. Thanks again to the festival for having us!
We had a sick gig at the Chai n Vibes stage at Earth Frequency Festival on the weekend.
Thanks to everyone who came along for a boogie and particularly to those who bought our album.
We are of course terrible at self-promotion, and didn't really organise to take many photos or videos, so if anyone who happened to be in the audience took a photo or filmed some of the set, please post up in the comments or send us a message.

RuckusFest 2021! is THIS WEEKEND. Here's the schedule for Saturday (follow the links for the Friday program)
We're really excited to be performing as part of this festival. We've got a slightly longer set than the usual 45 minutes, which means we should be including a couple of the more poetic pieces in addition to the upbeat hip-hop tracks.
This could well be our last gig for the year, so grab a ticket and come party with us!

We had an amazing time playing at Laura Street Festival 2021 last Sunday night. Thanks again to all the organisers and volunteers who contributed to making such a wonderful festival happen!
