Potions By Liri
A practice of Alchemy to blend lunacy and the scholastic mind. Intuitive herbalism services, classes and products.
Today Potions by Liri closes.
It is bittersweet to say goodbye to this project/business/offering I have been pouring my heart into the last few years. I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported Potions along the way.
As all things change and transform so has what I feel I want to offer to the world. Today I launch , a new journey of art, spirit and plant magic. I invite you to join me on this platform if you feel called.
The potions by Liri site will be live until the end of the day. It’s the last day to put in orders on any potions.
a final brew…
I have been quiet on here for quite some time..
I decided to take a few months of quiet reset as I settled into the Catskill Mountains and took time getting to know the land. Upon reflection I have decided to close Potions. The shop will be open until the end of October (to welcome Scorpio Season a time of transition). I will be taking limited clients at this time. My books will be open for readings + aura paintings on my site - this is part of the new shift.
But keep an eye on your inbox and Instagram around October 22 on the Venus Kazimi, I will be launching my new website Altar Magji with brand new offerings. On Novemeber 8th (The Ta**us Full Moon Eclipse) expect the launch of my Seasonal Apothecary Boxes. More on this later.
For now I want to say thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey with me. I am grateful for all of your kindness and support. I look forward to seeing you all on the otherside of this transition.
a lil wildcrafted lunch.
I made a tortellini brodo using some wild nettles, burdock, garlic mustard and violet.
I grew up in restaurants, like many first generation children. I did homework on the prep counter while the chef chopped parsley. I would take naps in coat check waiting for shifts to be over. I grew up trying everything, I ended up working in hospitality most of my life and I love that industry with my whole heart.
When I get to merge cooking and sharing food with herbalism and foraging it feels like bringing two different sides of me together.
It’s also a reminder that we have so much abundance around us and so much of our food is meant to be free. When we learn to eat from the wild, we de-capitalize our kitchens and palates. It gives our power back to us.
Fiddlehead Ferns 🌀
Fiddleheads are my favorite part of spring. Seeing these wrapped spirals remind me of the spirals and cycles of life. The moments of hibernation and integration we have before we stretch out to reach new ideologies or versions of self. It’s that bridge from winter rest to spring awakening.
Ostrich ferns are edible while other types of fiddleheads are not. They taste like tiny spirally asparagus and pair great with goat butter and lemon.
When I went walking today I was hoping to find some fiddleheads as I hadn’t seen any yet this spring and I was in the south the past week. The terroir changed so much in such little time.
I also came across so many ramps, but I didn’t pick any. I’ve been seeing ramps all spring but whenever I sit with them I hear a hard no. Ramps have been so over harvested the past few years as they have become so trendy. And while I also love a good ramp pesto there are plenty of other spring herbs we can wildcraft while waiting for ramps to repopulate. I’ve also seen dandelion, nettles, garlic mustard, violet and chickweed. Many of the ramps I saw had nibbles in the leaves probably from deer or groundhogs or whatever and I think we can leave it to the wild to help the wild. Ramps are the type of plant that need to be picked somewhat to help repopulation but with so many people already doing that, I feel the need to opt out.
I don’t really want to tell anyone how to have a relationship with nature but I think everyone should have a relationship with the plants before picking them. The plants speak to us and we have to listen and ask for consent before we pick. Just because we can pick a plant doesn’t mean we should, just as it works with humans just because we can touch a human doesn’t mean we should. Plants have bodily autonomy and have the right to decide what to do with their life same as humans (and in recent political events women should have this same right cough cough roe v wade).
This is a long and spirally posted inspired by the spirals of ferns. It’s only one opinion, do what you feel best honors your relationship with nature, just have a relationship built off trust and mutual respect.
this makes sense to me
THE HIGH PRIESTESS 🌚
Venus has moved into pisces so I have decided to start working with my high priestess tincture again.
This tincture is made with a combination of Artemisias gently extracted in a lavender brandy flower essence. This tincture is closely related to the goddess Artemis. The goddess of the hunt, working with Artemis teaches us resilience, strength and trusting our intuition and instincts. This tincture also induces lucid dreaming, allowing us to heal our subconscious.
Venus is the planet of love, romance, attraction, value and connection. As it moves into dreamy, healing and subterranean Pisces we are able to heal the themes of Venus in our subconscious states of dreaming and meditation.
Working with this tincture by taking a few drops before bed can help you enter the lucid dreaming state. Ask the plant spirit a question or for assistance and receive the answers in your dreams.
This tincture also induces me**es and tonifys the digestive tract.
The herbs :
Mugwort - Induces Me**es, Induces Lucid Dreaming, Opens Intuition, Bitter tonic and helps digestion
Horehound - Related to the God Horus and has Evil Eye type protection. Aids in digestion as well as clearing the respiratory system.
Silver Sage - Clears negative thoughts and protects the spiritual body. Anti-bacterial, Anti-fungal and Anti-viral properties.
Wormwood - Aids digestions, increases libido, fights depression. Wormwood opens intuition, allows us to hear the calls of judgment and gives us good instincts to find our path
Lavender Brandy Essence - Calming and soothing, cleanse the soul and aura, allows us to feel the strength in our vulnerability and sensitivity.
Ingredients: Mugwort, Horehound, Silver Sage, Wormwood & Lavender Brandy Essence.
St. John’s Wort 🌞
This plant only appears to you when it wants to be seen. It grows in small bunches or singularly making it a plant of independence and self reliance. Always be careful when harvesting St. John’s wort, never take the first of what you see it could be the last of it all. And only gather 1/3 of the plant to make sure it can go on living.
St. Johns Wort - Has been used for many years to fight the symptoms of depression, seasonal affective disorder and mild to moderate anxiety. Increases production of Serotonin. *This herb may interfere with the effectiveness of prescription medications of all sorts. Should not be used by pregnant women. It may make some folks sensitive to the sun.
This is a plant of fire to be taken with mindfulness. Remember we work with plants for a holistic experience. We build relationships with herbs we don’t “use” them. Work with the plant like you would when building a relationship with the person. Move slowly and with respect. Learn the boundaries the plant has with you and you with the plant and respect them. See how the plant can change you mind body and spirit.
Try not to choose plants based just off symptoms, bc you are not your symptoms you are a person. Find the plant that allows you to feel most yourself and helps you unlock the doors of healing on many levels.
You can find St. John’s wort In our anti sad blend.

rebuilding calm 🌾
I have been working with this tincture daily since January. Working with plants is not just about the scientific and medicinal properties (which is a huge and important part) but when we work with anything ritualistically it gives us routine. When we create relationships with plants it creates connection and when we follow through on our self promises it creates self trust.
Insta won’t let me product tag tinctures anymore but you can find this and so much more on my website. Link in bio.

Rainy warm days = Turkey tail Mushrooms 🍄
Turkey tails are one of the most common mushrooms in the north east. They get their name Bc these mushrooms look like turkey tails. They come in a variety of colors but usually can be spotted because they tend to have an array of 3 colors, a velvety feel and grow on dead or dying trees. But always do a spore test to be sure you’ve found the right shroomies.
Turkey tails are hailed for their antioxidant power. They can reduce oxidative stress and inflammation. Turkey tails contain polysaccharopeptides, which make this mushroom immune boosting. Turkey tails are naturally rich in prebiotic which may improve gut health and by default your immune system and even your mood.
Mushrooms are the connecting tissue of the earth. By working with mushrooms you connect to the universal consciousness of all earth beings. Energetically it can help us feel more connected and accepted in our communities. If you are looking for more connection, working with the spirit of mushrooms can help you do that.

About your teacher Liri - I have been reading tarot since I was 8 years old. My approach has always been intuitive. I believe tarot is about developing relationships with the cards, the energies they bring and the archetypes they carry. When we truly become tarot practitioners we actually don’t need the cards to read. We see the cards in everything and everything in the cards. Tarot is a part of my daily life and a tool for my healing journey. And I hope to give you these tools too.
I found these on a walk before a big snowstorm here in the Catskills. They had survived so many storms this year and yet they still looked perfectly ripe and in tact. What a beautiful example of natures resilience.

2/22/22 & Americas Pluto Return.
I don’t really have much to share here. I have been in a space of reflection and reception lately. The sun is currently transiting my 8th house which is ruled by Pisces so I’m letting the subconscious flow.
Here is a photo from a cave in Portugal where I felt so close to spirit.

A higher elevation //
I have recently moved to Upstate New York in the high tops on the Catskill Mountains. With every move there are so many lessons and downloads that come through, I have been in a state of quiet to help filter and process these shifts.
The mountain spirits have been greeting me with sights of Bald Eagles, Coyote paw prints on my porch, hawks in groups of threes and a little fox that plays with the chipmunks in the back yard. The cold has been striking, every morning I wake up to negative degrees. In these frigid temperatures you learn to rely on the warmth of yourself and community around you.
Mostly I have been hearing to slow down, call back my energy and collect myself. For the past few years running potions, I have been fairly nomadic. Traveling between states and counties to deliver potions and readings. I am so grateful for the net of community I have been able to reach but I have been hearing the need for stillness more and more. I will be minimizing the places I go and the events I do. It is only to be strong enough to continue this work with the integrity I started it with. Each elevation of the mountain has a different lesson for me and I want to be there to hear it. You will still be able to find me in BK and LI as the months get warmer. But I will be doing less events than I have in the past.
Please continue to purchase products online or book your sessions virtually and when I do leave my hermatic state I will send out an email on where I will be.
Me two mentorship programs are still open. You can learn more on my website. Link in bio.
Only one bottle left of the antioxidant vinegar! It won’t be back until next year when the sumacs are back in season.
A day late but here we go…
Venus Stationed Direct yesterday at 11 degrees Capricorn. What did you learn this cycle?
Process Oxymel 4 oz.
Oxymels are concentrated drinking vinegars cut with honey. Add a tablespoon to sparkling water, tea or juice. You can also take a spoonful on its own or mix into dressings.
Dandelion Root - Helps cleanse and improve liver function, balances gut flora and is inulin rich, aids in managing blood sugar, high in many vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, may help in the fight against inflammation.
Lemongrass - rich in antioxidants, anti-microbial properties, helps protect stomach lining and balances gut, promotes better digestion and fights inflammation.
Black Peppercorn - High in antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, aids in cognitive function, may balance blood sugar and aids digestion.
Working with bitter herbs energetically allows us to process bitter experiences. Often times we have digestive issues if we are still processing certain experiences. Working with Process Oxymel helps us process in more than one way.
Ingredients: Dandelion Roots, Lemongrass, Black Peppercorn, Apple Cider Vinegar & Raw Honey
