is the pose for today.
I did this a few minutes ago while waiting for my former high school classmates to arrive. We graduated 40 years ago!
It was a killer. Great way to pass the time actually. 5 of them are 45 mins away or so.
About this pose.
The purists say you can’t photograph yoga.
Maybe that is true, I say, you can capture torture. Which is what this pose was for me.
It was so hard! Check out the hosts and see how straight up high they could get their legs.
I triple padded my knee thinking that would help but no. That is as far as I could go.

Like eagles soaring high, true strength comes not from endless busyness but from knowing when to rise above and when to rest.
Do you know when it’s time to rest or are you the “go go go” type?
Let me know in the comments!

This week’s pose called by brilliant is perfect for me to pause midweek, find balance and pray.
I have back to back events:
I just finished hosting some old college friends visiting. We had the best time ever (sharing the last of my photos in this carousel)
And this Thursday I am hosting a dozen women (friends from Maryknoll the All-girls elementary and high school I attended in the Philippines!)
Whew!!!! I’m not the type who over schedules (you know, because I like my bed) however sometimes when the schedule calls out of my cocoon: I jump in with both feet!
So thanks for this pose
It forced mindful breathe, focus and balance.

The pose I was trying to do, did not look like this.
Swipe to see what cued up for today’s yoga pose.
It’s incredible but after a few minutes of trying it out, I knew it wasn’t for me.
Don’t force whatever isn’t a good fit, in yoga and in life.

Day 2: more food, volleyball, yoga, and joy!
I bowed out of some festivities today to do the Thursday yoga pose called for by and the rest of the fun crew:
Last night’s fun.
Another unplanned event.
I was actually planning to go to our camp last night when I got rerouted by a phone call:
Steve’s friend Joe and wife Renee invited us to watch the Pirates.
It was a pretty exciting game with so much action. A ball nearly fell on our heads.
Bumped into old friends and made some new ones, including a 🦜 parrot.

Yesterday evening I was minding my own business, sitting on my porch steps feeding “my” wild rabbits when I got a text from saying she was going to be a few minutes late, could we order for her?
I was so shocked to discover that a dinner date I had 13 miles away had escaped my mind.
After calling .c.ashman (who was already waiting at the restaurant) we conferenced called Raff (who was stuck in traffic 20 minutes away)
We almost rescheduled the date but didn’t.
I jumped into my car and made it there (a half hour late)
Had a delicious meal at Green Mango.
Exchange stories and life ponderings like we do monthly.
Planned the next and parted ways.
All is well.
Sometimes I can’t get enough of a pose.
This was one of those times.

Yesterday the four of us + Joe (the bf) decided that we were going to play beach volleyball. However, when we got to the park, there was an entire beach volleyball tournament going on. So we quickly changed our plans.
I called my sweet friend CK and asked her what she was doing.
She was busy minding her own business relaxing in her beautiful backyard
I asked her if we could play pickleball.
She said it’s so interesting that I asked that, because earlier in the day they had bumped into someone who asked them if they still play pickleball in their backyard and they said that they hadn’t set it up all season yet. Yet! So my ask was perfectly timed!
Super fun day with the family- and still in keeping with my entire week of spontaneous events.

Here are some Now and Then photos from my life!
with.rosetran
7 Habits were discussed at an impromptu porch session:
1. Be Proactive: Take responsibility for your actions and choices. Focus on what you can control.
2. Begin with the End in Mind: Define clear goals and envision your future. Know where you want to go.
3. Put First Things First: Prioritize your tasks based on importance, not urgency. Focus on what truly matters and not on the shiny or squeaky.
4. Think Win-Win: Seek mutually beneficial solutions in your interactions. Aim for agreements that satisfy all parties.
5. Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood: Listen actively and empathetically before expressing your viewpoint.
6. Synergize: Work collaboratively with others to achieve more than you could alone. Value diverse perspectives.
7. Sharpen the Saw: Continuously improve yourself through physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual renewal.
From Stephen Covey (Franklin Covey for educators teaching leadership to children)
Read up on these habits if you would like to teach and model principles of effectiveness at home, at work or in your community.
*this has been a week of unplanned events that have filled my cup.
Thanks for the visit .hanley.12 and Julie H!

I love unplanned evenings because I am able to enjoy myself without the lead up anxiety that sometimes happens to me before I leave my house. Slowly but surely I rewire my brain each time I leave my house.
I love these peeps and
I love my photo proofs of life
How about you? Are you an out and about type of person or more of a stay home type?
Tell me!
Zoom into this photo and then flip it over and look at my chin.
Isn’t it massive?
I purposefully jut my chin out to eliminate the double chin.
The problem with focusing on my chin is I forget to suck in my stomach.
Oh well.
Now about this pose:
I call this a pose meaning death defying. This was hard!
