Bonnie Marvin, Notary Public
Notary Public / Signing Agent
As school starts up, we love to see our children thrive in new environments, seeing their friends and getting back into sports, band and other activities. For those who have children over 18 and are off to college, If something were to happen to them, do you have a voice? I know it's not something we want to think about, but it can be the harsh reality of life. We want our children to be safe. But if something happens, do you have a power of attorney so you can make decisions if they can't? If you do not and would like one, you can print out the forms, fill them out and have them notorized. This way you are prepared if something should go wrong. Or even if they just need a little more help as they navigate adulthood. A HIPAA form can also be a good idea for those who would like some parental help navigating thier newly minted adulthood.
When you are getting something notarized, please make sure that the notary
Is well versed in power of attorney, wills, trusts, ect. In Delaware, there is no training required to be a Notary. Having a NNA certified Notary, helps make sure your documents are completed correctly.
Elizabeth Willing Powel "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?"
Benjamin Franklin “A republic, if you can keep it.”
Happy Independence Day, Americans! Let's keep our Republic!
When you are a mobile notary, you need a reliable vehicle. My reliable vehicle became not so reliable very recently. She goes into the shop once we get home from vacation.
Busiest day yet! Loved it!!
Got to work a little bit in the country today, and look what I saw! The picture is a little bit flurry. But still very cute!
When you need witnesses for a will or power of attorney, who can you use? Are they free? Do you have to pay them? Any witness you use, you want them to be impartial. So Noone related or that could benefit from the transaction. A neighbor is good, co-worker. They don't need to read the paperwork, just witness your signature. Those are free If the Notary brings witnesses, they usually charge for those services. I have a few people I can use as witnesses and charge 25.00 each.
Wishing each and every one of you a very happy New Year! I hope you all have a happy and healthy 2024 full of blessings!
Oliver and our tree. He loves when the tree goes up!
I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving yesterday! We had a full house and full bellies! Today we decorated for Christmas. When do you decorate?
Do you know who the first notary public was in Delaware?
If not, it was Thomas McKean.
One thing I love about my job is meeting other people's pets. It has come up in notary chats about aggressive dogs or over friendly dogs. It is suggested that if you have someone in your home for business, that pets be put up for that time.
If your college student were unable to make decisions for themselves, can you? A Power Of Attorney would allow you to.
As a Notary Signing agent I am always learning about the changes in law for Notaries and real estate.
For those who have adult children and want to have a Power of Attorney for them (medical/financial), in case something happens, you can make decisions. If you print out the documents, I can double check to make sure all is filled out and notarize for you.
Last week I worked with my first deaf individual. I was so nervous since my signing isn't what it should be, But we had a great time! The client and the clients, family and friends were so kind and very welcoming.

Delaware finally is allowing Remote Online Notary. Yesterday I became a RON. YAY! Now to educate myself on the ins and outs. :) Trying to expand my business and what I can do. Also working on becoming a field agent.
I got a last minute signing last night. It ended up being a little further than I thought it would be. BUT... I got to see the cutest baby, who is super smart and said mama first, instead of Dada. 😉 They also had a couple of adorable dogs. The ride was beautiful. All and all a great signing.
Love days like today! I walked into a business for a signing and was immediately greated by a huge, fluffy cloud of a dog! I could start all signings like that, no problem! 😁
I have been a Notary since January 9th and a Signing Agent for 2 months. I wanted to see what it entailed before I did much in the way of advertising or talking about it. I have to say, I love it! Working for myself, meeting other people, helping people navigate the paperwork needed to purchase a home in another state, get a home equity loan, refinance, or in these times, loan remodification, is very satisfying. I am looking to expand my business in other areas and will keep you all posted when I do. But right now, I love being a Notary and Signing Agent.
