Bred as a hybrid of Red Wattle, Large Black & Berkshire, the combination of these three heritage breeds results in a faint red & black “tiger stripe” appearance and pigs that will grow into masterful foragers (great for w**d abatement), with gentle demeanors.
Mamas Wanda and Penny have been doing an amazing job after birthing and sustaining litters of 9 piglets each. Their days have been filled with piles of snoozing piglets, feedings, and even some playful running around their pasture already. For now our team is indulging in piglet snuggles and observing their curiosity as they discover their new world under the watchful eye of their mamas. Welcome to the farm, little ones!

Babies! Berkshire piglets born early this morning, the youngest now about 15 minutes old. I went out to give Betsy a little medicine for a injured foot and she was nursing 12 healthy little ones. She is a very good mom, though we’re coming to realize always a few days early with her pregnancies. We no longer expect the usual gestation time of 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days. We’ll keep a close eye on them for the first 72 hours, then will see Betsy let them wander a bit further. They’ll be running in and out of the nursery, playing, within the week.
Fresh hay Sunday's are the best 🥳🐖

Welcome to the farm, girls!
Can’t quite believe they are actually here and we now have pigs. Not entirely sure I will be able to name them...they will be with us until November until they go for harvest...that or I’m becoming a vegetarian and we will have pet pigs...watch this space 🤪

Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween 🎃👹🎉🎉 on that note we are now accepting pumpkin and squash donations. Drop off only. For small household donations (less than a truck load) these can be left at our home anytime @ 9185 187th street. For larger donations directly to our farm in Aldergrove please DM for appointment or details. 🍁🍂

I had the best time visiting my friends farm in Hampstead, NC this weekend. We had wonderful time catching up, seeing and doing farm chores together.

They only stay little for so long, in the meantime, I will just keep admiring their pig snouts, wrinkles, and curly tails, and continue to take about a hundred more photos 😁😁🐽🐖🐷
