What I love about this collage that I did this morning is that it expresses how many shapes and sizes my pain containers come in. And that I don’t need to keep trying to contain my life. My containers are how I’ve controlled my pain in the past. But creativity knows no bounds! So it’s time to stop fencing my life in.

The Power of Hope fills my heart, it’s the key that unlocks possibility, but I’m afraid of the disappointment that seems inevitable. Do I dare to dream, dare to expect things to be different, dare to have hope?

I was afraid this would happen! When the world shifts and I don’t want to shift with it. What’s a girl to do? Instead of wallowing in self pity, I decided to capture my brave and bold ideas. I choose to be curious and creative. There’s more than one way to do life. You do you and let the world be the world.

Stories passed down from generation to generation. Stories of unmet need. Stories of shame and sadness. Stories built on lies. through and get curious about what could change.

I don’t know about you, but I struggle from judgementitis and it’s driving me crazy! I walk through life on a cloud of superiority that’s rooted in insecurity and doubt. This week I’m exploring the truth behind the lies that color my world so I can begin to rewrite my stories and build a better world.

FEELING OUTSIDE THE BOX

Working this morning around childhood memory, I gave a homemade gift made out of a used oatmeal canister.

I remember the kids snickering at me while they presented their store bought gifts, as if they were better than me.
Sometimes these early events set the stage for the stories we live by.

Today I was out to uncover that story. I find that writing about the event is an important start, and then the part, which I do directly on top of the writing, ends up being the most revealing step of my process.
