As a Miami native filmmaker and artist, I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited to share our film with the community, which was created through immense hard work and dedication in collaboration with many other local artists.

Muñeca Fuentes is a South Florida actress and model, originally from Nicaragua.

We’re very excited to announce the incredibly talented actor .puya is portraying Tommy, the 1940’s charming detective character from Penny’s novel.

Nick Puya was born in South Florida with family roots hailing from Naples and Calabria, Italy. The youngest of 3 brothers. He started pursuing his acting career at the age of 19. Starring in Dances With Films "The Critic" and his upcoming feature film "Wreck Of Echo 10-4"

We’re excited to announce the very talented actor and producer
is portraying Max or Maximiliano, who is Penny’s husband in Creator(s).

Alex Lugo is a second generation actor, musician, and filmmaker from Miami, FL. He was raised in a family of artists and is the son of Daniel Lugo, a prominent Puerto Rican film and television actor. He has trained at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in NYC and is an alumni of the American Theatre Wing’s SpringboardNYC program. Alex is also the founder of Vitruvian Films, a Miami based film production company. He most recently won the platinum award for best actor at the September 2021 Independent Shorts Awards for his portrayal of twin brothers Guy and Dre in the short film he co-wrote/produced titled They Prefer Richards. Aside from his creative pursuits, Alex also graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics from Florida International University and is a full-time Software Engineer. He currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia and is represented by Atlanta Models & Talent (AMT).

A native of South Florida, Jennifer Joy O'Grady has a passion for storytelling that seeks to give a voice to the voiceless. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema & Television (Screen Acting and Creative Writing). As an actress, writer, producer and director who has penned short films, as well as eight-part episodic series, Saudade, Jennifer is intentional about telling stories that shine a light on social issues and provide a platform for voices which are often not given much attention in the entertainment industry.

As an actress, Jennifer’s start began early on in the performing arts through dance and theatre. However, she was always intrigued with telling stories on camera, which led to her passion of working with this medium. Since graduating, she’s gained extensive on-camera experience in multi-award winning independent short and feature films, web-series, TV series, Amazon Prime films and Television commercials. Her goal is to continue developing and growing in her craft. In any role, she strives to bring to life the writer's imaginary character as truthfully as possible on screen.  

Jennifer is also the founder and CEO of Open Door Film Productions, a visual storytelling company that has conceptualized and produced multiple films and commercials for the business community. Open Door Film Productions was founded to produce uncompromising material with cinematic quality and artistic vision, portraying reality with the foundation of inspiring themes.

‘Creator(s)’ is a short drama-comedy about a writer, Penny, who struggles to choose between her career and her husband’s wishes to start a family when the characters of her 1940’s detective noir novel materialize into her life. They help her decide the path she wishes to take in the next chapter of her life.

“I’ve felt led to create this short film next with the goal of going into production in December. I began writing this film in 2014, and I’ve been waiting eight years to finally bring it to life.
My previous work includes a larger-scale, eight-part series with an ensemble cast, which I wrote, directed, produced and starred in. I’ve learned so much since that experience, and I’d love to use the knowledge I’ve gained both in my career and personal life, into this very special project.
We have secured skilled and brilliant crew members and cast highly talented and established actors who believe in this vision. We’re all excited to bring this story to the screen!” —
