🎉🏆 CONFIRMED CHAMPIONS 🏆🎉

After a very long wait to see what was going to happen due to Covid-19….

We have been confirmed as League Champions for the 2019/2020 season🤩🎉

A huge well played to all the players that contributed to us winning the league, we are looking forward to collecting our trophies at next weeks presentation 😁🎉🏸

🔊 WDBL UPDATE 🔊

Hello everyone !!

Further to our recent Committee Meeting(s), we can now officially announce the winners of the 2019/20 season, which is now finalised due to COVID-19.

Due to the League Season being suspended for 2 years, the winners of both Divisions are based on the League Table standings as they stood at the start of the pandemic 💉💦🦠 and therefore marks the completion of the 2019/20 season.

Congratulations go to:

🏆 Weymouth Sports - Division 1 Champions 🏆

🏆 Preston Racketeers - Division 2 Champions 🏆

Trophies will be awarded at the upcoming West Dorset Badminton League Annual Presentation Evening, so make sure you're in attendance to collect, as well as to tax your brains at the quiz !!

We look forward to seeing you all on the 22nd October 📆 to celebrate the team successes, as well as get together and remember what it's like to be in a room together, ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Best wishes,

Kimmy
ThreeOne Division 1 Rep

Save Redlands Community Sports Hub Redlands has provided a wide range of sports facilities for many years and is a valued local facility that the town needs. The decision to close the site in the summer of 2022 is going to seriously reduce the provision of sports facilities in the area. The site is owned by Dorset Council and leased....

🏸 NEXT WEEKS STEPS 🏸

We welcome the government announcement that the country moves to Step 2 next week, and badminton moves one step closer to returning at all levels.

Junior organised activity, 1-1 coaching for juniors and adults, and 1-1 recreational play (household only) are all permitted from Monday, when leisure centres reopen.

We lobbied for more adult play, but the government insisted there are no exemptions.

We will publish our update guidance later this week once we have the full government information. For now, stay safe, and we will see you back on court soon.

🏸 MOTIVATION MONDAY 🏸

We hope everyone is managing to get out and about nowadays and start to enjoy the reopening of many things...sadly not too many sports halls tho👀

Pete is trying to sort out courts and bookings with Redlands to restart in September, so in order for him to make a decision he needs some information from everyone😅

‘Update on Weysports Monday Club nights. Based on the latest Badminton England restart guidelines there is good news and bad news. We can all play doubles....but only in groups of six and these six players have to stay together for the whole two hours. There will be lots of hand sanitizer, payment will be contactless only and an attendance record will be kept. If the number at Club Night is not a multiple of six or four some players may be disappointed or end up playing singles all evening. Please let me know, ideally with a yes or no if you are happy to play with these limitations.’

Please let us or Pete know your thoughts sooner rather than later 😁

23/07/2020

🏸 UPDATED RULES 🏸

Everything seems to be on its way back to normal slowly now...we’re just in need of some halls opening up👀

If anyone knows of any halls please let us know?😇

🏸 Updated guidance! 🏸

Key updates include: FULL court singles AND doubles & greater flexibility for coaches.
