Everything You Need to Vote - Vote.org

In light of the current presidential campaign, everyone at Youth Activism Society strongly urges everyone 18 and older to register to vote. Allow your voice to be heard in the upcoming election. Idaho allows same day voter registration, which allows Idahoans to easily register to vote in advance of an upcoming election, or when they show up to vote at the polls. Here are some regulations that the state of Idaho requires when it comes to voter registration:

•You must be 18 on or before Election Day
•You must be a US citizen
•You must have lived in your county 30 days prior to Election Day
•Provide valid photo ID
•Provide valid proof of residency
•Provide valid state ID number or last four digits of your social security number
•Felons are not allowed to vote until they have completed their terms of sentence

We would like to thank the Idaho Food Bank for allowing us to join them in assembling backpacks for food insecure students in the state of Idaho. In total, a group of five individuals assembled 36 boxes of backpacks, averaging about 6 backpacks per box. We would also like to thank everyone who has donated to our efforts to provide funds for the Idaho Food Bank’s backpack program this year. Every monetary donation is being contributed to the making of nearly 1,280 backpacks for the 2019-2020 school year. THANK YOU EVERYONE!! Fighting Food Insecurity in the State of Idaho - Youth Activism Society

For the month of September, marking our first large scale project, YAS is partnering with the JRM Foundation for Humanity to provide funds to the Idaho Food Bank to help them fulfill their goal for the Backpack Program, which ensures that children suffering from food insecurity have access to healthy food over the weekend. Our mission is to reach $12,000 by the end of September in order to start the backpack program off on the right foot for the 2019-2020 school year. A donation of $300 will provide one student with food for an entire year.
