What makes a website good and high converting…?

This is something I hear a lot of people talk about, and I often see people spend lots of time trying to make their website perfect.

The fact is…

You’ll never be able to make your website perfect.

This is a common mistake I see people try and something that takes too much time…

When you’re making your website, make it as clean and simple as possible.

David Fogarty is the CEO of the Oodie, and he has tested a lot of different website and came to a conclusion that the more easily navigated and simple your website is, the higher the conversion rate will be.

Of course, you need a good offer and other pieces, but keep this in mind when you start designing your website.

So, what is the 5 most common reasons customers abandon their cart…?

1. Shipping costs

This is a common reason, and it is on the top of the list. This is especially true to the ones that don’t buy in bulk and just want to buy a single product. Charging shipping for a product that doesn’t get shipped out the next day is also a big dealbreaker.

2. Long and confusing checkouts

I think we all recognize this. If you ask me, as soon as the checkout gets confusing, I’ll leave, and this is also a big dealbreaker for people. Try to keep your checkout as simple as possible and you can even hire a developer for a fair price on Fiverr or on Upwork.

3. Aggressive upselling on checkouts

When a customer is in the checkout process, you don’t want to interrupt them. If you’re going to have an upsell, make sure to have it after they’ve bought the product.

4. Better pricing at other websites

An important thing for you as a seller is to always know what the other prices is at your competitors and what they are charging, because if you charge too much the customers will highly go the other store.

5. Slow response on website

Not optimizing your website and making sure it’s fast is a big miss. In fact, if customers must wait longer than 3 seconds for a page to load your conversion rate will fall dramatically.

Well who am I…?

My name is Simon Tyleborn, a former animation student turned entrepreneur.
