We are ... I am ... This little ball of magic and noise and bad breath kisses and personality became our heart and soul. Micka always said he was like my little dæmon (soul animal companion from Golden Compass). He went everywhere with us...Xmas and summers in MT, Xmas in VT, and too many Palm Springs trips to count. He was our little sun dog and sought us out. Showed up a little over 10 years ago at our back door, emaciated, not fixed, stinking to high heaven. He’d been on the street for weeks. We already had Ripley and Gryphin (dogs) and Leeloo (cat), but no one claimed him, he wasn’t chipped, and he instantly burrowed his way into our hearts.

In the last year, he was diagnosed with collapsing trachea, pancreatitis, not pancreatitis, bowel disease, spinal degeneration, and congestive heart disease. And his teeth were falling out. We thought it was the end in January, and then he bounced back and we got two more wonderful months.

This weekend was perfect, he was full of beans and talkative and laid in the sun on the deck. And then this morning at 4:30, he started rapid breathing at 60-80 breaths per minute and...well, the vet said oxygen cage and hospital and X-rays and more...and he just pushed himself up on us and seemed to say “this is too much”. He’d already been thru so much this last 6 months of tests and vets and trauma.

I’ve never sobbed so loudly or so long in my life. I’m inconsolable. My soul is missing a huge part of its essence. But he’s not in pain anymore. And I know Sabine and Ripley and LeeLoo and Maggy and Roscoe and Chancey and Ruby and Lucy and Montana and Ozzie are sniffing butts and chasing squirrels with his noisy little face in an eternal sunshiny day.

I don’t know how I’m gonna get over this one. I love u until the end of forever little man. @ Los Angeles, California

It's for a dear DEAR friend and just all around awesome lady who has the ability to be just what you need when you need her. She is just awesome! And her abilities of telepathy, precognition, teleportation, and reality augmentation make KISMET a powerhouse to be reckoned with! :)
