Rolling Mill Hill/Iron Triangle Residents’ Association will hold their monthly meeting on Wednesday, February 21st at 7:00 pm at Heritage Point Apartments Community Room, 151 Dana Street, Wilkes-Barre. This month’s guest speaker will be a representative of the PA American Water Company for residents to address any issues. Also, Vince Sperduto, Constituent Service Representative for Senator Marty Flynn’ office will speak on the Property/Rent Rebate Program offered by the state. City Councilman Tony Brooks will be in attendance to hear any neighborhood concerns from residents. Handicap parking is available and the public is invited.

We are investigating a crash that occurred on 7/16/23 at 2110 hours. A white pickup truck, traveling north on N. Washington St., near Beatty St., struck a vehicle and fled the scene. The pickup would have front passenger side damage. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Cope at 570-208-6773.

WBPD is currently investigating thefts from multiple motor vehicles in South Wilkes-Barre.

We have recovered various items that have not yet been reported as stolen. We are looking to identify the owners.

If you live in the general area in the picture, please check your vehicles for missing property.

If you believe someone may have entered your vehicle and removed items, please contact us by dialing 911 to file a report.

With the weekend here and warm summer evenings we’d like to remind our citizens to be safe when using fireworks, and to follow City and State ordinances.
Do not discharge fireworks within 150 feet of any building. Be smart and keep our community safe!

City Hall will be closed and there will be no DPW services on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2022.

Monday, May 30th garbage and paper and cardboard recycling collection for Downtown and South Wilkes-Barre 1 rescheduled for Tuesday, May 31st. Monday, May 30th Yard Waste pickup is postponed and will resume on Monday, June 6th. All other collections remain unchanged.

Additionally, on Tuesday, May 31st , Wilkes-Barre’s Department of Public Works (DPW) will begin their summer hours of 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, and will continue through Tuesday, September 6th. Garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection must be placed curbside by 6:00 AM, on your collection day, during summer hours.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, K-9 T-shirt pickup is delayed. Pickup will be at the next crime watch meeting on May 9, 2022 at St. Andrew's Church, Parrish Street. T-shirts can be picked up from 6:30 till 8:00 p.m. We apologize for the inconvenience.
