Rom 8:32 "He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?"

If God says that we are righteous then we are righteous. Believing God has made us righteous is faith. Jesus's blood has washed all our sins.

Although many people sing the hymn, "Nothing but the blood of Jesus", they are still working hard to cleanse themselves of their sins to get into heaven. However, what is more important than anything we do is what the Lord has done for us. Stop trying to wash your sin! Believe the truth that Jesus has already washed them all!

The gospel hidden in the ark (32)

Acts 17:25 “Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things.”

Uzzah held onto the ark. God struck him, and he died right there on the spot. Uzzah did not know how to serve God. God is self-sufficient. God does not need the hands or help of man.

Uzzah touched the ark because he tried to help God. He tried to hold God up. He tried to be for God. Normal spiritual life is when God is for us. God does not need the help of man.

We must take our hands away from the work of God. What God hates the most is when the hands of man touches His work. When our hands touch God’s work, there are works of death, and we become people who ruin God’s work. Spiritual life is not us being for God, but God being for us.

Great will

A graduate student named Vito Matti was living in Spain. One day, he went to the university library in Barcelona to submit his thesis to become a doctor in philosophy. He was looking for a dissertation from a Spanish philosopher in the 18th Century when he saw a piece of paper in the book that was dated in 1741. It was the will of Hierro, who had written the book. Hierro wanted someone to remember the book he had written. So he wanted to leave all his inheritance to the first person who studied his book. The Spanish courts followed the will and gave Vito Matti the inheritance of $250,000.

God wanted to give heaven to everyone in the world. So he gave us the Bible, which are the words of God. In the Bible, He gave those who accept Jesus the right to inherit heaven. The thief on the cross, who had committed sins his entire life, inherited paradise because he accepted Jesus. If you acknowledge that you are a sinner and accept that Jesus Christ is the Lamb that takes away all the sins of the world, you will become the son of God and inherit the kingdom of heaven.

Just like the young Vito Matti discovered the will that had been in the book for a long time, whoever opens the Bible and accepts the words of God with faith can become the son of God who can inherit his kingdom.

Vision

Ecclesiastes 7:10 “Do not say, ‘Why were the former days better than these?’ For you do not inquire wisely concerning this.”

The older you get, the more you remember and talk about the old days. Old people cannot stop talking about the past. Young people talk about the future. Spiritual life is the same. Those who are not doing spiritual life now talk about the past and live in the memories of the past. They say the past was good. The people of Israel had left Egypt, but every time they had hardships, they missed Egypt. That was because they had become old people who had no future.

This was when I went to our church in Atlanta. A married sister had a child, and after that, she did not come to church. I never once saw her. She had separated from her husband because of some dispute and was raising her child by herself. I called her and told her, “Spiritual life is not the past, but the present.” She then brought her child to church and her church life was strong once again.

The prophet Joel said that when the Holy Spirit comes upon them, your sons and daughters will prophecy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. The world of God is not heading towards the past, but towards the future. The Holy Spirit allows us to dream dreams, gives us visions, and makes us run towards the future.

Exploring the Word of God Is the
Most Rewarding Journey

There are many famous verses in the Gospel of John that people have read their entire lives, such as John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Instead of taking the words of Jesus in, exactly as they are, people's hearts are filled with thoughts and standards that hinder the word from working. Instead of gaining hope from the open invitation of, "...whosoever believeth in him," many Christians add the standard and thought of, "...whosoever believeth in him well and have done well."

There is a great big heart and truth of the Gospel hidden within the Gospel of John. There is the forgiveness that saved the woman taken in adultery. There is the power of God that brought Lazarus back to life. There was the righteousness of God that changed the heart and life of the Samaritan woman Jesus met at a well. These stories were included in the Bible for you and I to discover the amazing world of God's heart.

Pastor Ock Soo Park has explored the words of God for over 50 years. God unlocked the hidden treasures in the Gospel of John throughout Pastor Ock Soo Park's ministry. Now, all those treasures can be yours, on CTN. What an amazing chance to discover the world of God within the pages of the Gospel of John!

John the Baptist and Herod

King Herod took his little brother’s wife and made her his wife. He committed a great moral and religious sin. John the Baptist pointed out his sin. So Herod knew that John was a holy and righteous man, and feared him and protected him. He listened sweetly to John’s words, even as he felt very anxious.

Herod was conflicted between John the Baptist and Herodias. When he listened to John the Baptist, he had the heart to put Herodias away. But when he went home and listened to Herodias, he felt like he had to kill John the Baptist. He was unable to decide. But while he was holding off on the decision, Herodias’ daughter danced on his birthday. In the end, he killed John the Baptist.

If we do not decisively kick out the thoughts of the flesh that the circumstances give us, and just push back the time, we will ultimately kill the word. His whole life, Herod regretted what happened and he suffered. Killing the thoughts that rise inside of me with the word of God is spiritual life.

No Longer Thirsty

Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well and they started a conversation. When they first started, there was a clear difference between this woman and Jesus. The woman said, “You’re a Jew. How can you ask me for water?” What is amazing is that as they talked on and on, the heart of this woman and the heart of Jesus became one.

When Jesus spoke to this woman, His words at first sounded like nonsense. "What kind of water will make you never thirsty again?" This sounds like nonsense to us, but this woman believed these words of Jesus. Everyone, what can we see from reading these words? Although what Jesus is saying is not the same as her thoughts, we could see that this woman accepted the words of Jesus.

She must’ve thought, “Why are you at the well? You’re not here to drink water. You’re here to draw water with a bowl. Why? Because after you drink it, you get thirsty again. If you didn't get thirsty again, you would not need to be here with a bowl. You drink water, and then you fill-up the bowl, and then you carry it home, and then you drink it all. You drink again when you get thirsty..."

Although this woman was hearing the words of Jesus for the first time, she accepted those words into her heart. These are words that she can’t understand, but this woman believed the words of Jesus. This woman leaves her water pot and she enters the village. She’s no longer thirsty. She doesn’t need a water pot anymore. She goes to the village and tells them, “This is the water that I drank. Everybody, come." And she brought all the people of the village to Jesus. And it was very, very amazing.

Before this woman was married and she thought her husband could make her happy. But she did not like her husband. Her heart was in so much pain. She went through one husband. She had another second husband. She went through one husband, She had another, second husband. She went through five different husbands. And she was living with the sixth husband. But that man could not satisfy her thirst. And the seventh person she met was Jesus. Jesus was not her husband in the flesh, but Jesus was her husband to her spirit. The word she received became the water of life. This woman is no longer thirsty. She no longer has to be in pain of sin. She became satisfied and she doesn't need anything else more because of Jesus.

The word of Jesus cleansed her of all her sin. When this woman accepted the word of Jesus, the power of Jesus and the heart of Jesus began to live and work in her heart. If you accept the word of Jesus, you're accepting the heart of Jesus. When you accept the words of Jesus, a dirty sinner transforms into a holy person. A person who is sick overcomes their sickness.

And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants, how that the Lord thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were sore afraid of our lives because of you, and have done this thing.
Joshua 9:24

The people that survived after Joshua made war on Canaan were the Gibeonites. Gibeon was like a royal city and a great city. The Bible says it was greater than Ai and all its men were strong. Other people who fought with Joshua were all destroyed.

The people of Gibeon didn't surrender after losing in the war with the Israelites. When they heard that God was with the Israel, they surrendered. They are the people who listened to the word of God and collapsed. They listened to the word and changed their heart. They are the most blessed people who toppled before the word of God.

We want our hearts to fall down or to change our hearts once some big incident or disease comes. So a corresponding great pain or injury follows. But there are many instances where the heart is not changed, even if you meet a big problem.
The most blessed thing is the heart that surrenders and receives the promise once it hears the word of God.

The ark and Uzzah’s death

In 2 Samuel 6, there is Uzzah’s death. As David was moving the ark of the covenant from Abinadab’s house to the city of David, the oxen shook. Uzzah put out his hand and grabbed onto the ark of the Lord, but God was angered and killed Uzzah.

There is a way to handle the ark. The ark is something the priests have to carry and move; other people should not touch or handle it. Uzzah was trying to protect the ark, and then he died.

God exists all on his own. He does not need man’s help. Man should not put his hands on God’s work. We must let God work. It is not that man should work for God, but God must work for man.

If the Spirit of God dwells in you

The world of faith has nothing to do with how well or how poorly you do. Spiritual life is according to the Holy Spirit. It is not important if we are lacking or weak. The Holy Spirit leads us to do the work of God.

As we run for the gospel, there are times we are disappointed and want to give up when we look at ourselves. And sometimes, we are unable to move powerfully for the gospel because of fear. That is not the right spiritual life. True spiritual life is not looking at myself.

The Holy Spirit inside us will work, change people, and continue to work. Believing in the work of the Holy Spirit is faith.

09/10/2020

"If Satan did not work inside of us, we would have the same heart like Jesus and not Satan.

It is just like this, 'Yes, Jesus, I will pick up my bed and walk!' Spiritual life is believing Jesus.

No matter how evil of a person I am, if Jesus says I am righteous, then I am righteous. As soon as I believed Jesus instead of my judgments, he gave me grace and helped me.

When I had one heart with God, God worked amazingly.

Just like the word in Acts 13, God is looking for people like David, who was "a man after mine own heart."

Joseph was hated by his brotheres and almost died. He was sold as a slave to Egypt and was unfairly sent to jail. And it says God made everything Joseph did prosper.

We want to say that we are prospering because we have some good condition. But no matter what circumstances we are in, we can prosper if we are with the Lord. What our circumstances are or how we feel are not important. If we are with the Lord, then no matter where we are, we will prosper.

The people of Jabesh-gilead (1)

One day, Nahash the Ammonite said to the people of Jabesh-gilead, “On this condition will I make a covenant with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes.” (1 Samuel 11:2) The people of Jabesh-gilead wept when they heard this. The Spirit of God came upon Saul when he heard it, and he fought with the people of Ammon, and saved the people of Jabesh-gilead from danger.

In 1 Samuel chapter 31, the Philistines nailed Saul’s body to the wall of Beth-shan. At that time, all the men of Jabesh-gilead went all night to Beth-shan, took Saul’s body back, and held a funeral for him.

The people of Jabesh-gilead had a thankful heart for King Saul. The grace they received from Saul was so great that they risked their lives for no reward and retrieved his body.

Before doing the work of God, we must receive the blessings and grace of God. If the blessings we receive from God are big, the heart to serve God will naturally and strongly arise.

Lot’s spiritual life

Lot left Abraham and stayed at S***m. Then, a war broke out and he was captured, and all his wealth and supplies were taken away. Abraham took 318 people who were born and trained in his house, saved Lot, and took back everything that he lost. Lot got everything that he lost, but he did not return to Abraham and he again went his own way.

Lot’s spiritual life was “if the problem or difficulty is resolved, I have received grace.” God wanted to turn Lot’s heart around, for him to go back to Abraham. Lot was in front of death, but his heart did not change. He just got everything back and walked an even more evil path.

The grace God wants to give us is for our hearts to change. The one whose heart is broken down through things or difficulties that happened, and who belongs to the church and the servant of God, is the one who has truly received grace.

Eternal Redemption Accomplished For Us

In Hebrews 9:12, it is written: "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us."

In the Old testament, the Israelites forgave sins by the blood of goats and calves. But the blood of goats and calves can only wash away your sins for a short amount of time. But if you sin again, you become a sinner again. And they killed lambs continuously, repeatedly, again and again.

But Jesus, not by the blood of goats and calves but by His own blood has obtained eternal redemption for us. The earth is in the realm of time. Time continually passes. You give an offering for you sin, and it goes into the past. You sin again and you have to give another offering. Over and over again. We have to continuously give offerings to become cleansed from our sins.

If Jesus had to forgive our sins, He could not wash all of our sins. However through Jesus dying once on the cross, He forgave our sins forever as it is written: "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, he entered into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Hallelujah.

The Lord with his eternal offering has forgiven our sins forever. So when God sees us now, we are not sinners, we are righteous. Therefore God says that you are justified. Therefore God says that you are sanctified. Therefore God says that you are clean. If God says you are justified, you are righteous. And if He says that you are sanctified, then you are holy. We should not believe my thoughts but believe in the word.

Tabernacle Lectures (5)

God loves us, so he could not bear the wall that was between him and us. (Romans 3:23) It says, “for all have sinned”. Everyone has sinned, but if you do not realize your sins, going out before God is not a problem. But when the law comes and you realize your sins, the grace to resolve your sins will surely follow.

The reason why the story of the tabernacle comes out twice in Exodus is because the law to make humans realize their sins came down twice. The people of Israel sinned when the law first came down to earth in Moses’s hands, so Exodus had to record a second time the story of the tabernacle that forgives our sins and opens the way for us to go out before God. We can know more of God’s heart through the same story being written twice in Exodus, that God wants to open the way for us to be free from the law.

The real reason the tabernacle was built was to save us, who were suffering in sin through the law, from sin. The tabernacle of the Old Testament is teaching sinners how to wash their sins. In the same way, Jesus Christ is the power of God who washes the sins of the souls who cannot go out boldly before God because of their sins.

There is the spiritual life of the raven and the spiritual life of the dove. The raven did not return to the ark and kept flying around and eating rotting dead bodies until the water dried up. It was exhausted and suffering.

The dove could not find any place to grab onto and came back to Noah. That itself was news to Noah. Through the dove, Noah could understand exactly what was going on outside.

If you do not have faith, just reveal that you do not have it. If it does not work out, just reveal that it does not work out. But even though you do not actually have faith, you do not show the core of your heart or confess about yourself. Because you want to establish yourself as someone who has some level in spiritual life, you cannot have true fellowship. The raven was restlessly flying around alone and it had nothing to do with Noah.

This is a summary of Pastor Ock Soo Park’s Sunday sermon this week.

1. When we have fallen into despair and suffering, that is when Jesus thinks he should do something for us.

2. There is no one who has seen Jesus, but the church is full of the works that Jesus does.

3. At the times we knew it and at the times we did not know it, God was living and working in the midst of us.

4. If we live relying on the Lord, then we can experience how God loves us.

5. Do not worry that you cannot see the Lord with your own eyes.

6. Even now, Jesus is preparing and thinking about our tomorrow.

7. The Lord’s preparation is incomparable with our preparation. The Lord’s preparation is beautiful.
