Our Alpha 1 Journey

Today we have had Archie's paediatric appointment. Unfortunately, like a lot of other doctors, the lady we saw doesn't know a huge amount about Alpha 1 so she has referred us to genetics.

The most worrying piece of information from yesterday was that only 50% of people make it to the operating table.

Our trip to QE went exactly as we expected. Andy is currently too well to go on the transplant list. He is however now on their radar so as soon as his consultant at Hereford hospital thinks he needs to go back, he will get seen quicker.

I have changed the name to include Archie's journey as well as Andy's x

Today we are at QE hospital in Birmingham. It's a 4 hour appointment for breathing tests & a consultant meeting to discuss the prospect of a double lung transplant.
