Meet our hero volunteer, Rebecca! 🌟 For over a decade, she's been a rock-solid support for military service members, boarding an incredible 35 dogs during deployments. Rebecca's dedication and compassion, along with her family, shine through in every furry friend she welcomes into their home.
Her journey with DoD started when an article about the organization deeply touched her heart, and since then, she's been an integral part of our mission. From addressing behavioral issues to providing a loving environment, Rebecca's expertise and care make all the difference for our service members and their beloved pets.

Our dogs explore the world through their mouths, yet there are no standards for toy safety. Tests conducted by ConsumerAffairs.com found a variety of mainstream toys tainted with toxic heavy metals, including cadmium, lead and chromium. These toxins are released when wet or when bits of the toys are consumed. Look for toys that are made in the USA, BPA and phthalate free, toys that do not have strong chemical smells, and that are dye free. Toys have to have two holes to prevent suction from drawing the tongue into the hole.

Retrain a Dog Over time a dog may pick up bad habits despite prior proper training. Or your dog may not have had proper training, so you will need to retrain him. Dogs can be retrained at any age, but it is a good idea to take your dog for a thorough check-up first to rule out any health problems. As long as your dog is healthy and able, you can retrain him by using persistence, patience, and rewards like treats and praise.
