Ahh the Livescope (FFS if you're politically correct) debate. Below is my biggest problem with it. I'm going to bite the bullet and shell out $2700 plus just so I'm not at a disadvantage. Reality... If you were a good fisherman before it, you hate it. Why? Because all the jabronis that couldn't even catch a limit on the regular are now having a chance to compete. The guys that were dominating did it through years of learning, experimenting and time on the water. They feel cheated now by the dollar over the work. I'm not saying if you like it and use it you're a bad fisherman.. And if one of you gives me that Tired line of "still gotta maike em bite". You're the ones I'm talking about. A lot of times we had to make em bite on one random cast with one lure to increase the odds. Now you can follow them around the lake and throw everything at them till one of you give up.

It was a day made for the Polar Bears yesterday @ Dukes Bridge. We had 15 boats that braved the snow, rain and 30mph gusts. Mike Lyle kicked off the festivities by winning the Cashion rod in the raffle that was provided by Tackle Shack LLC. Nice rod for a $5 ticket. 1st place and Bb went to Andy Buss and Kerry Frey with 15.99lbs and a 6lb big bass. ($280) + ($75) 2nd place went to Jeremy Bunnell and Lee Duracz with 13.58lbs. ($170) 3rd place was Steve Kline and Aaron Likens with 11.04lbs. ($75)The final money went to Ron Fabizak and Jason Fowler with a 9.15lb carp. ($75) Some honorable mention critters were a 6 plus pound walleye, 7 plus pound dogfish and and a pike over 8lbs. It was a grind but a fun time. Can’t wait to see everyone for a smallie beat down next Saturday at six span. The trifecta pot is currently at $200 and will keep rolling till hit or won at last event.

Found a key to someone’s Chevrolet in my boat today. Must’ve left there on accident during the weigh-in.
If you are missing a key, let us know.

A BLUSTERY DAY

As the name suggests the Polar Bear Opens started their season on a day made just for them. With north winds howling out of the Northwest with gusts pushing over 40mph and dropping windchills down into the 20s, there was still 9 teams crazy enough to show up and brave the elements on Lake Maxincukee last Sunday. There were 4 limits weighed with the top honors going to the Team of Ron Fabiszak and John Gipson with their limit tipping the scales at 11.79lbs. They were using A-rigs and single Swimbaits to land their mixed bag of Small and Largemouth bass. They also took the big critter honors with a 2.36lb walleye. They were rewarded with a total of $260 for their efforts in the Polar Bear and an Additional $600 for also winning the Straight Money tournament that was hosted alongside the polar bears. 2nd place went to the team of Clint Marler and Phill Duracz who also reported success on swimbaits with a bag weighing in at 10.44lbs anchored by the big bass of the tournament which was a 3.14lb smallmouth. They earned $145 from the Polar Bears and an Additional $200 from the straight money. Honorable mentions and other award winners were Jeremy Bunnell and Lee Duracz who won a custom FishStyx custom fishing Rod ($190) value rod in the Pre-Tournament drawing as well as being nudged out of 2nd place by .06lbs, and Andy Buss with Jim Wheeler who earned the Lucky Spot award for 5th Place in the Straight Money tournament getting them $80. The next Polar Bear open is Scheduled for what looks to be a record breaking warm day this Saturday from 7:30-2:30 at Diamond Lake in Cassopolis, MI. Yet again another FishStyx custom Rod will be given away pre-tournament to the one of the lucky teams just for entering. The trifecta pot was not hit last tournament so $45 dollars is already in the pot and looking for it’s first natural winner in our history. Hope to see you all there. Make sure you check out Fishstyx.com and get your Christmas Custom Rod Ordered.
