It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Rockabilly legend, Johnny Powers. He passed in Michigan yesterday, surrounded by his family. Johnny was truly "there when it happened," picking up his first guitar at an early age and giving us that slick rockabilly beat for nearly 70 years. He said performing was "his drug" and it was the love of his fans that kept him on that stage into his 80s. Thank you all for being such great fans and making his dream come true. We would love for you to honor his memory by posting your favorite photos & stories of Johnny. And as he would say: Keep on rockin'! 🎶

A look back at Fortune Records Back in 1946, Devora Brown decided to go her own way. The Detroit-based songwriter had sent multiple compositions to Tin Pan Alley producers, but never heard back from the song publisher and hitmakers in New York City.
