My colleague sprinted towards this structure at about 35kph!! Sadly, he lost the battle about 10 meters from the entrance... But I should start this story from the beginning.
Our work assignment led us to the quaint town of Karatina. Arriving at around 8pm, we checked into Starbucks for a good meal. Once our stomachs were well fed, the task was to find an affordable place to sleep, so that we don't fully squander the per diems we had received. We chose a small lodging about two "streets" behind Starbucks. At 400 bob a room, the most we wanted was a bed and a place to refresh the next morning.
I remember waking up to the smell of panga soap! I immediately regretted sleeping there! Turns out, a guy on the floor above me was taking a shower and somehow, all his used water was draining into mine!! The rest of the night was spent scrolling this group.
Asubuhi, I was the first one out. I bought a soda as I waited for my colleagues, who joined me shortly. And then pap!! Msee wa mayai akatokea! Since guys hadn't gotten breakfast a few guys opted to attack the boiled eggs. Thank heavens I don't like them. My colleague (who shall remain nameless for the sake of his dignity) was nursing both hunger and a hangover. It took six boiled eggs before he asked me, "Bro, Utamaliza hiyo soda?". In a few minutes, the driver showed up and we continued our assignment. Ghafla bin vuu, jamaa anaanza kusweat na kuna baridi... Kidogo, he's asking to sit next to the van door and opening the window. As we approached Nyeri, a policeman flagged us down and my colleague noticed that one of the cops was holding a newspaper. He promptly asked, "Afande, hiyo gazeti na ya leo?" The policeman held it towards him and said, "Hapana! Ni ya Jana. Nilikuwa tu naipitia..." And then we heard the rolling of the van door. Kugeuka, all we heard was the policeman saying, "Haiya!!" as our colleague broke into a sprint that would have won him a Gold medal!! Tena kwa shamba ya mtu!! Then we saw the pit latrine and everyone started cheering!! We really wanted him to make it!! A few metres shy of the pit latrine, he gave up, fumbled with his belt and did a squat. Woiyee!! At least he tried.

All I am saying is Karatina is a very beautiful town.

*_The mad man then asked, “Why?” The teller irritably told the mad man, “These are rules. Please leave if there is no other matter. There is a queue behind you.” the teller then returned the cheque to the mad man._*

*_The mad man remained silent. But he returned the cheque to the teller and said, “Please help me withdraw all the money I have.”_*

*_The teller was astonished when he checked the account balance of the mad man through the system. He nodded his head, knelt down and said to the mad man._*

*_“My apologies Sir, you have ksh 3.5 billion in your account and our bank does not have so much cash currently. Could you make an appointment and come again tomorrow.?"_*

*_The mad man then asked, “How much am I able to withdraw now.?”_*

*_The teller told him, “Any amount up to ksh 300,000.”_*

*_The mad man then told the teller that he wanted to withdraw ksh 300,000 from his account._*

*_The teller did so quickly and handed it to the mad man respectfully._*

*_The mad man kept ksh 5000 in his bag and asked the teller to deposit the balance of ksh 295000 back into his account._*

*_The teller was dumbfounded._*

*_Rules are inflexible but we humans can be flexible when the situation requires us to be.._*

*_We should not treat people base on their look or how they are dressed._*

*_Rather, we should treat everyone with respect. And never be too quick to judge a book by its cover._*
